Parent: Mannahouse christian academy is a wonderful school. My son attended both preschool and kinder here and is now in 1st grade. My niece is in 7th grade here as well. Senior: I have never felt unsafe at Clackamas High School. I mostly focused on my academics, which were thorough. I had many classes to choose from, including Career Technical Education. I've taken advantage of the numerous elective options and am grateful that I had that opportunity. I've had a few teachers who were somewhat incompetent, but never genuinely mean. My counselor and teachers are supportive of me and want me to succeed. However, I do feel disconnected from the administration and the school culture and spirit because my school is huge (over 3000 students). I have low school spirit. My school also isn't diverse, which is unfortunate, but neither is Clackamas, so CHS can't really do anything to fix it. We have several fantastic programs: sports teams that consistently place well at competitions, the choir program is great, and the theater program is amazing. Senior: I moved from a small town to Oregon City and started attending the public high school last year. Overall, my experience has been great and I'm much happier than I was at my last school. The teachers have been overall helpful and supportive, as well as more qualified than my last school. I'm impressed with the amount of help they've provided to each student, especially after the pandemic. The students was something I had to get used to, since coming from a much smaller school. However, I've met some nice people. There are definitely a lot more disrespectful students in the classroom than I've seen before, though. Parent: My sons been going here since kindergarten, he’s now in 6th grade. We LOVE it! This school is GREAT! It’s small, community driven with a major emphasis on the outdoors as the kids go out & explore the neighborhood weekly and go on big trips all over the Portland area several times a month. It’s a place based education model. I have had nothing but helpful and communicative teachers and staff when I have questions or concerns. Most of the parents are very involved in volunteering and helping the school in various ways. So far this year is my sons favorite with the best teacher he’s had (in his opinion) which says a lot as we enter the pre teen/teen years. Parent: We LOVE being a part of the Columbia Family. Even though we are relatively new, I know the relationships our 3 kids and ourselves are making are the kind that last a lifetime. My kids are growing in all areas; spiritually, academically, physically, socially and their focus on building good character is outstanding! They now have the healthy challenge and accountability academically that they were missing and in that, they have found joy and personal drive because they have been able to see just what they are capable of doing. So thankful for this place and the genuine care they have for my children's todays and their tomorrows and....that extends to our entire family. It is an absolute BLESSING! Senior: Rex Putnam High School is a school for me. The teachers and staff are very supportive. On top of that, the educational system has a good structure. Also, health guidelines and policies are well kept and for the safety of all the students. It's a great place with lots of quiet study places.
