Parent: Phillips Academy offers an excellent education for the student who asks, "What more is there?" "Who else can I meet?" "I want to learn about..." Andover is a large school supported by passionate and intelligent faculty, students and staff who all contribute to the intellectual and supportive environment. Nearly half of the students are on scholarship thereby enabling a diversity of domestic and international students to access the campus and curriculum. According to my kids, everyone there is excited to learn, happy to help out and passionate about what they are doing. They are thankful for their opportunity. I give Andover 4 stars because unless you come in as a D1 athlete, they don't support a student to grow into an athlete & will cut students at a low level. I believe all students should be supported despite whether they play in a game. Lastly, the cost of attending is not fully transparent: For those who do not qualify: tuition is $70,000 plus 4%+ a year so plan ahead.... Read 160 reviews

Parent: I have two Children who attend Brooks. Both are 4 year boarders. The opportunity each of them has been given in attending Brooks as been incredible. They have been challenged in and out of the classroom. The academics are challenging, but are done in an environment that is always supportive, with a lot of encouragement to strive to be and do your best. My children have forged wonderful relationships with many of their teachers, advisors and coaches; ones that will last a lifetime. The school is very warm and welcoming, and has the feel of being "home". Athletics at Brooks are a great compliment to the academics. Brooks is always competitive in so many of their athletic teams. Brooks transitioned so quickly and so well to online learning during this past Spring when schools were forced to close. Parent: My son is currently a senior at Governor's and has had a fantastic experience! It truly is a very special place and we are so grateful he has had the opportunity to attend...The academics are definitely tough, but Governor's finds a way to create balance. There are prep schools out there that are so rigorous kids are stressed out and depressed. I distinctly recall touring one elite school which had an entire floor of a building dedicated to counseling offices because kids were so stressed out. That is not the case at Govs. Balance is important in life and Govs makes a conscious effort to explicitly weave that into the experience. Senior: I have had an excellent experience at St. John’s Prep. Although I have experienced many challenges, the school has done an excellent job in preparing me for college. Additionally, I have felt that the school guides its students every step of the way, which instills a sense of confidence in all of us. The school culture is great. Although we are a sports powerhouse, the school does a good job at promoting other aspects of student involvement, such as drama productions. Parent: We currently have 2 children ages 6 & 8 at the Lower School. We couldn't be happier with the Teachers, Administration, Volunteers, and total Community at BCA! Our Kindergartener started reading at 5 years of age after entering the start of the school year not knowing all the letters or sounds. Our 2nd Grader is excelling at reading, math, and takes piano offered at the school! The teacher to student ratio is unmatched and the BCA community is personal, available, and supportive. My children's favorite time of the day (besides recess) is bible study. They cannot get enough of the stories! Teachers are able to give their personal attention to those who need it. Parent: Covenant Christian Academy in Peabody, MA stands out amongst private schools in eastern Massachusetts. The school delivers an incredible education that is christian, classical and college preparatory. In addition, the campus is beautiful! Our children have attended grammar school for two years now and we have been overflowing with praise for the teaching faculty and administration. Parent: Exceptional! After a number of discouraging school experiences, we found Sparhawk. Our primary concern is having a safe, inclusive, caring environment - Sparhawk absolutely provides a level of attention AND intention that goes above and beyond. They have navigated the COVID situation with transparency and concern, providing resources and focusing on the needs of our children. The curriculum draws from diverse sources, providing robust and engaging project-based learning. The school has a progressive set of values, a credo, that reflects the values of the school and the community it strives to create and maintain. When our child has struggled, he has found multiple outlets for support, from his classroom teacher all the way to the head of school. I feel confident he is learning to to strive and grow because he feels cared for and listened to. Senior: Central has always and will continue to be a "home away from home" of sorts. It really is the most welcoming community I've ever been a part of, and the opportunities there are countless both academically, athletically, and socially. I think if there were one thing I would be looking to change, it would be providing more money towards the tech department. The ACADEMIC side of the classical sciences such as biology, chemistry, and physics have no shortage of funding, but CCHS does lack some skill development in more specific engineering and computer science fields. There are a lot of "CS Basics" classes and "Engineering 101" classes, but there aren't enough resources to develop an academic track for students looking to pursue STEM fields outside the classic sciences at CCHS. Alum: Georgetown as a whole is a very cliquey community and so I did not entirely enjoy my high school experience. There were gossipy mothers that got too involved with school drama, there were typical high school popular groups. That being said, I received an excellent education. Not every teacher was the best but they all care deeply about their students. I could go to any person in that school with a problem, academic or not, and they would help me out. There are some teachers that are way better than others but again, they are mostly all super caring. The AP classes were great, I am already a semester ahead at my university because of AP credit. Overall, this school is great in preparing kids for higher education. There are also many cool clubs. The small town drama just comes with the territory of living in Georgetown unfortunately.... Senior: This school is definitely unique. Each shop gives you opportunities to learn trade skills and do fun things at school! I'm in equine science and we learn a lot about taking care of horses and other animals at our barn. The facilities are amazing, it's really more of a campus than a school. The main thing that I really don't like here is that arts and music curriculum are seriously lacking. There's no opportunity to take those classes unless you choose Design and Visuals as a shop, or go to the clubs. Also, with the school adding more and more new freshmen every year, classrooms are pretty full and we're close to or over capacity I think. There are also less AP classes than other schools if that's important to you (I think we have 7 in total for options). But overall I would highly recommend checking this school out!... Senior: What I liked about my experience at Whittier Tech is that the teachers were generally always great and helpful throughout the whole 4 years. I enjoyed going through all exploratory technical programs and learned a lot from my time here. You choose a specific technical program to go into and it's great to have backup skills in that trade in the real world. I made very good lifelong friends and a partner which I will always be grateful to Whittier Tech for. Overall I had a great time and recommend this school to anyone, not just people who wish to go into technical programs. It will be very worthwhile whether you're fully enrolled for 4 years or choose to do night school. I learned information from going to this school that will stay relevant throughout my whole life.... Niche User: Although I have only spent one year in Lawrence High School, it was one of my best experiences in my life so far! The Teachers and Staff are very helpful to students because, they push them to earn good grades. However, Lawrence High and many schools in Lawrence public school, doesn’t get as much funding compared to other schools in Massachusetts. Middle School Student: What I liked about Lawrence Catholic Academy was that it provided me with small classroom setting, which helped me a lot.
