Parent: When my kids started school something just didn't seem right. At the time, I didn't know what was wrong, I just knew it wasn't right. After several years we looked at Brookfield Academy and learned that the classical liberal arts education and its teaching of grammar, Latin, Western Civilization coupled with BA's focus on freedom, Singapore Math, economics and its five stars that help develop good character in well-rounded individuals, is what was missing. We switched schools and the kids never looked back. Through their years at BA each child discovered passions in academics, Certamen, fencing, chess, art, and theater in addition to more common sports and clubs. In college now, they are well-prepared beyond their peers in academic foundation, resourcefulness, comfort in speaking directly with professors (thanks to the amazing teachers at BA and their desire to know their students), and have a broad range of knowledge that will serve them in any study they choose. Parent: Planned on sending just one child this year but ultimately transferred all of our kids after touring as they all asked to switch! All of our children feel accepted and free to be themselves, and quickly formed wonderful friendships as the community is kind and supportive. Teachers know who each student is as a person and are always willing to engage in conversations about how the kids are faring - a total 180 from our old district. Amazing fine arts curriculum in all grades and the sports programs are fun, low key and enjoyed by most of the students - a plus for us as our children do not enjoy hyper-competitive sports but still like to play. The academics are also much stronger than our old schools and our kids are THE MOST confident in themselves and their abilities as I have ever seen them. It is an excellent model of just how important reciprocal interpersonal respect is for everyone and how great school can be when the focus is actually on kindness and learning and having fun.... Parent: CMH has gone above and beyond during this pandemic by providing an excellent college prep experience while strictly following all COVID-19 safety parameters. I am very happy with the level of responsiveness by teachers and administrators at this school. While many students in our state have literally missed a year of school, CMH students have been able to study in person, meet with friends, and participate in athletics, arts, and worship. When I decided to send my daughter to CMH, I was a little hesitant because of the money, but I now can confirm that this is money well spent! Many public school parents who have had to watch their children rot at home with no athletic opportunities and canned online lessons, will most likely be paying money down the line to alleviate the inevitable psychological problems this pandemic will cause our state's children.... Senior: The High School of Health Sciences gives students many opportunities relating to STEM. They have partnerships with many organizations that help students figure out their post-high school plans. The High School of Health Sciences allowed me to take a CNA class through WCTC. The High School of Health Science staff help support each student and tries to prepare them for college if that is what the students' plan is. Their school has self-paced classes which help students learn key skills. While attending this high school for all four years, I have learned organization, time management, and communication skills. Senior: I love Waukesha West because they really do care about you and your learning. They enforce many rules so that you focus and succeed in school and sports. But, they still provide a support system for every single student. Every teacher is strict but very kind and caring. Everyone at West walks around with a smile on their face. While I get it they want to push students, they could be a little less strict. Sometimes students feel as if they enforce the rules too much. Students do feel welcome at West but they do also feel pressured to do good due to all of the rules. Sometimes students also feel restricted. Sophomore: Although I am only a sophomore, my two years at Mukwonago High School have been great. As a freshman, I knew I wanted to enter the medical field. Mukwonago Highschool offers a medical pathway that has me on my way to becoming a medical professional. I started with Bio-med and found an even greater interest in pursuing medicine. Mukwonago High school also has exceptionally supportive and helpful teachers and staff members who genuinely want to see their students succeed. Clubs and sports at Mukwonago high school shape our community; sports bring people together, and I have never experienced a supportive community as I have at a Mukwonago football game. I think very highly of Mukwonago, but we still have some work to do on the topic of diversity. Unfortunately, it's not unusual to hear slurs in the halls, particularly toward students who are part of the LGBTQ+ community. Alum: Trinity Academy truly prepares students for success at the college level. Trinity gives students a strong foundation in essay writing. Many Trinity teachers test in the college style with short answer and essay formats. Most of the middle and high school teachers have doctorates in their respective fields. They are also extremely supportive of their students. Although Trinity is small, its opportunities for leadership and student involvement are plentiful. However, students do need to take the initiative to be involved. Many students play three-season athletics, found clubs, organize fundraisers, act in theatrical productions, etc. Finally, the faith life at Trinity is incredible. The religion courses are phenomenal and give you a strong foundation in Scripture, the Catechism, papal encyclicals, morals, etc. Opportunities to receive the sacraments are available.
