Alum: Al-Noor Academy is an amazing school with a lot to offer. First and foremost, Al-Noor's Religion and Arabic programs are top tier. The effort the teachers put in is apparent after each lesson. You come out of Br.Sofiane's religion lessons not only learning more about Islam but also wondering how you're going to implement what he taught into your own life. The Arabic lessons are comparable to those of schools in Arab countries. Secondly, Al-Noor is known to send students to some of the most prestigious colleges in the USA including Harvard, MIT, Brown, Cornell, UChicago, Tufts, BU, BC, and more. Parent: All three of my children, with extremely different personalities and needs, have attended the school since they were in kindergarten and all three of them loved it. What makes the charter school so successful is that every family chooses to send their child there. Inclusion, kindness, and other virtues are represented in the values of the students, teachers, staff and the parents. Kids are awarded for demonstrating these virtues. It is amazing when everyone feels safe and accepted, that barriers to learning are easily removed. Kids don't feel embarrassed to present their ideas, answer questions in class, or ask for help. Teachers can ask one student to help another with no objection. It's easier to form groups for projects. Parents feel the same confidence reaching out to the Parent community for help too. Senior: As I Senior at the school, I can attest that Feehan is an amazing school and I highly recommend for those who want to pursue college. Before you even start freshman year, they have events to help you connect to other students. In addition, Feehan has enough clubs/sports to satisfy anyone’s interests. The school is great at emphasizing the importance of Catholic values and service to the community. Almost every club will be doing some type of service, and each student needs at least 60 hours of service to graduate. Feehan offers 4 levels of classes, besides AP, for each subject that all prepare students for college. The guidance I have received when applying to colleges has been spectacular. You are even required to take a semester SAT prep class during sophomore or junior year. The teachers are all wonderful at what they do and strive to help students achieve. Alum: My experience at Blackstone Valley Prep was excellent. This school gave me so much. I was luck enough to find great friends from there. I was able to connect with people that came from different backgrounds as me. I was able to trust the adults in the building because they would ask me if I was okay when I looked off. Not only did they ask about it but they made sure to listen when we talked to them about it. We were able to get ready for the years after high school. Whether it be college, work, travel, and more they made sure that there was a team there at school to prepare us for what was about to come. There is so much more that I have learned through the years and not just academically. I was able to decide that I was to be a teacher. And the teachers there helped me to learn what kind of teacher I wish to be. The students there taught me it is okay to be yourself. It let anyone tell you to me different. Senior: Blackstone Valley Tech offered me a fresh start with a phenomenal curriculum and teachers who made classes enjoyable. Attending a vocational school that is able to combine both experience and education has become something I am deeply grateful for. It's always a pleasure to listening to faculty and teachers as they are lively and teach to the fullest extent of their ability. I have been in situations where I felt as if I was falling behind in challenging courses and found myself receiving guidance from every teacher. Something I would like to see changed would be for the faculty to integrate ethnic cultures and backgrounds into the school environment. Having experience in my school's multicultural club, I discussed my opinion of wanting the school to "make known" of celebrations and holidays by decorating or including said celebrations on their calendars so students feel further welcomed. Senior: I joined Mount as a sophomore. Even before I walked in on the first day, I already felt welcomed into the Mount community. Staff and students are welcoming and approachable. The student body is tight-knit and the staff is passionate about their jobs. You will never go a few steps in the hallways without hearing greetings from teachers standing outside their classrooms.The guidance department is always open for students, whether it' an issue with school or something personal. I play the flute in the band and am part of various other music groups. I can attest that the music department is amazing and gives its students countless unique opportunities. Senior: I loved shop week! You learn so much and the teachers really care. It is great actually working in the field that you want to work in once you graduate. Just like any other school there are good and bad parts of the day. The only thing I would change is that there are multiple sports clubs but no chorus clubs and the theatre club is only non musicals.
