Senior: Peak to Peak is a very encouraging environment. As a student, I feel very prepared for college through their college prep courses and taking AP exams, as the teachers are amazing! I feel like I’ve learned so much and grown in so many skills, I really do recommend trying to go here. I think the only downside to this school is the culture of overachieving and the pressure to make grades determine your worth. I can say for certain that many students I know deal with this, even myself. Middle School Student: It isn't actually that much more HW than other middle schools, it's just a stereotype. Great School. There is a bit of HW, but don't all middle schools. It's not all education. Yeah, the teachers and administrators want you to be smart, but Summit students are good at a variety of things including sports, integrity, and kindness. This school also prepares you well for high school and college, which isn't a bad thing. Sometimes it's hard to take up a lot of activities outside Summit, but the teachers are flexible. Those who don't like this school just came in thinking they wouldn't like it, so their brains didn't let them. You can become stressed with the strive for perfection at Summit, but not if you manage your time well, and Summit allows lots of opportunities for that.... Read 5 reviews

Parent: My son graduated from the Watershed School in 2016 and from Lewis Clark College in 2020. Having watched the arc of his education I see what an amazing contribution Watershed made to his intellectual education and equally his development as a wonderful human and contributing member of society. I cannot thank the educators enough for their commitment to the students at this school. The educational model commits to the whole child and prepares them as thoughtful, critical thinking adults, prepared for the real world. They also have a lot of fun! Junior: A great school with phenomenal teachers and a supportive community. Many of the teachers here will put in extra effort to ensure student success and the school provides students of all levels with opportunities for their futures. The engineering department is great and sets students up for college, while providing the materials and overall earning very high test scores. Senior: Legacy is a good school academically, but it's lacking in the math department. There are only 1 or 2 actually good math teachers, but the rest assign busywork that doesn't teach you anything or they throw you difficult problems without teaching you how to do it and then get mad when nobody knows how. I liked the music/art programs and the English department, however, there is favoritism towards the sports teams even though the band is wildly more successful than them. Parent: Twin Peaks Charter Academy is the oldest charter school in the St Vrain Valley School District for good reason! Stellar faculty, staff and leadership provide a welcoming and safe environment where EVERY student that walks through the doors are provided the same opportunity to learn and grow. Smaller than average class sizes allow deeper friendships. The academics are demanding and challenging, stretching and growing kids. Senior: New Vista High School is a small public school in Boulder. I transferred to New Vista half way through my Sophomore year and I am so grateful I made that decision. New Vista is a very unique, non-traditional high school that values equity, and respect. The student body is so considerate and works hard to make it an inclusive place for everyone, along with that the non-traditional learning styles allow the teachers to create class plans that keep students engages in order to receive an all around higher learning quality. Before I was at New Vista I attended a much larger high school that did not respect the students nor care about they're overall wellbeing, this makes me so much more appreciative of what New Vista offers to all of the students.... Junior: Erie High School provided me with exactly what I expected to see in a high school. I felt that faculty and most students were all very kind and helpful, and overall we have a culture based around respect and hard work. In terms of academics, I believe Erie High is very strong. We consistently turn out high test scores and offer AP, engineering, and community college courses. We unfortunately have very poor diversity, with a major of this school being white, middle class students. Our teachers are almost all excellent, and I hav not had one I genuinely disliked. Junior: Flatirons Academy (previously Cornerstone Christian Academy when I arrived there) had its pros and cons. It was what I needed in order to grow academically, emotionally, and mentally. It introduced me to so many amazing teachers and staff who weren’t afraid to go above and beyond to care for their students. I got the chance to grow, learn, and make new experiences. Overall, the school served its purpose for me. I had my hard moments, I had some boring ones, and I had some amazing times from a community that wanted to bring the best to the table. I also had some less than exemplary teachers, but they did their best and I’m thankful for the experience it taught me. Also, that’s a part of all schools, so it’s not too surprising.
