Senior: The Park School of Buffalo provides me with a lot of things that I find crucial in the sense of an academic upbringing. There’s an incredible art program that helps encourage students to pursue their own creativity. This is paired with a hand tailored schedule that is made to suit the individuals interests. While yes, there isn’t much choice given when you have to pick math, there’s an extensive list of English, history, and electives one can look into taking. Not only this, but they provide the student an opportunity to try an “independent study”. A student can come up with a specific topic they wish to learn about and ask a teacher to make it into an independent study, then giving the student the opportunity to learn about a topic that is not generally taught within the school. While of course certain things could use adapting, like the lunch menu, the school as a whole is relatively very enjoyable and is a good place to grow an individuals skills and talent.... Senior: I'm a senior at Christian Central Academy and have attended since kindergarten, I love it! The teachers really care about the students and the culture of the school is one of growth and love. It is an academically rigorous school that promotes college readiness and AP classes of which I've taken many. There are small classes, rarely more than 20 students so everyone gets one one one time with the teachers and no one is overlooked. It has a safe and positive environment and I'm so grateful for my parents enrolling me here. Being a small school our sports teams have much fewer numbers but the student sections are filled with cheers and our high school girls varsity basketball team made state playoffs last year! Extracurriculars like music and clubs are promoted and everyone looks forward to (being in/watching) the high school play every year. Senior: Being a part of this school has been a fundamental stepping stone in my life. Sacred Heart academy has not only taught me curriculums but has also taught me how to be a part of a community. This school has so much to offer, including a challenging curriculum, a welcoming environment, an encouraging staff, and a community based on inclusion and sisterhood. I find myself excited to wake up and start my day as a student at SHA. Without this school, I would not have become the well-rounded, confident, and studious, person I am today. Alum: East Aurora High School was a great school. My teachers were amazing and student-oriented. They were always willing to help me with my both in academic and non-academic ways. There was one time, the track team needed a throwing coach. My teammates and I went and asked a teacher, who had coached in the past, if he could help us out and he did. East Aurora High School also offers lots of good mathematics and technology classes. I participated in several of them. These programs provided many opportunities to explore and to better my technology skills. I learned how to use 3D printers, laser cutters, 3D modeling apps, and woodworking machines. East Aurora High School also has great sports teams. I participated on the Men's Swim team, which had 51 years of division titles in a row, and the Tack and Field Team, which also had several division titles. Senior: My experience at Lancaster High School has been great! In my opinion, the faculty and staff here do a great job at creating an adaptable and supportive learning environment. There's almost an endless amount of resources for whatever any of the students here need, which is extremely helpful when trying to get work done. All of the students are provided with a wide range of opportunities, including five educational academies and many different electives. My school has much more to offer than just the core classes, which is one of the favorite things about my school. I personally participate in the PLTW academy, which has allowed me to explore the things I'm actually interested in, such as technology and engineering. Senior: I had an incredibly memorable experience. I was encouraged to do as much as I can, regarding clubs and sports. I played volleyball all four years, and I'm very glad I did. I made close friend that I would like to remain close with in my future. But in addition to volleyball, I played lacrosse my senior year. I wanted to play freshmen year, but then Covid struck and there was no season. I was intimidated to play my next two seasons because I knew I was behind on skill because I have never played before. But my senior year, I realized that I wouldn't have the opportunity to play on a high school team again, and decided to play. It turns out that there were other people in situations similar to mine on the team. But I became friends with people on the team fast, and am so glad I decided to play. The school also had lots of opportunities to travel to other countries. I traveled to two countries: Italy and Costa Rica. The Costa Rica trip inspired me to continue studying Spanish in college.... Niche User: My time with Orchard Park High School was great. The staff and teachers there were friendly and helpful to me. They helped me with studying and gave me study guides for tests and quizzes. They also knew about my disabilities and provided assistants to help me with my disabilities. It was very different from my previous school, Orchard Park Middle School. They did not care for my disabilities and did not see my potential in how I was smart enough to go into a bigger class. They wrote me off as a problem student. At High School the staff were very different and knew about my disabilities and were able to see the potential I had. The after school clubs were good. I was in a media club where I worked on the morning announcements. I worked in text prompter, changing cameras and being the announcer. Senior: St. Mary's has a very good culture. This culture is created by the faculty. The faculty cares a lot about their jobs and all of their students. They put in a lot of effort and prepare all the students for college. Every teacher there is nice, and kind and will put in extra effort to help any student who needs it. It is very clear that the teachers care about their students and they want them to succeed. The management at St. Mary's is also very good.
