Senior: OSSM is a place that I am proud to tell people that I attend, but the stress of being there makes it hard to appreciate in the moment. Just like any school, there are things that I wish were different, but they are severely amplified because we live with them every day. Even so, the stress and difficulties are what bring everyone together and make a strong supportive community of intelligent individuals. There have been many moments where I consider giving up, dropping out, and going back to my home high school. Whether it is for pride or for completion, most of us stay and finish. Middle School Student: Casady School is the best school in OKC. It cant even be compared. You see, Casady's education is top nautch for all subjects. All though Casady has the best education, if you want somewhere that has great sports this is not the school for you. The diversity is being worked on, but Casady support all religions! The teachers push you through challenges but will always have your back. Now, If you want to go to a great college, Casady is your prep school! Its safety is off the charts. Lots of security guards and drills practiced every year. Although Casady has a pretty bad sports rating its hockey is amazing! The food is delicious from SAGE dining! Different hot meals every day! The school is kept very clean. If your a parent you can help out with field trips, sign up to be a teacher lunch in, etc. They have great science, math, and technology classes, guaranteed to get you into a food college! Junior: On the Heritage Hall campus, everyone is extremely kind, helpful, and cares for the well being of others. The academics are great and the teachers all genuinely want success for their students and will work very hard to see their students achieve their goals. Additionally, I really appreciate the adaptability of everyone at Heritage Hall especially as we all navigate our way through this pandemic. Alum: A very respectable school. Kids are not always super inviting. Great teachers. Kids will get a good education, but the workload can be excessive. AP classes are good but hard and I wouldn’t overload yourself or your kid! Coaches are a little excessive in their sport workload too. Senior: I came to Harding Charter Preparatory High School in 2019 as a freshman with no friends. I did not know what to expect, but I knew it would be a significant change from my previous school based on Harding's excellent academic reputation. I was quickly welcomed with open arms and taken under the wings of the teachers. I was not treated as just another student but felt a personal connection with everyone. Harding has been my home for the past four years, and I have loved every minute of it. The workload was sometimes intense, but it was all worth it and has paid off. Thanks to Harding Charter Preparatory High School, the teachers, and the students, I now have 13 college acceptances and will attend postsecondary education for free. Senior: At Memorial High School, a diversified as well as academically focused administration is prevalent. During my attendance of four years I had rarely seen instances of under satisfaction and rather more instances of academic challenge to promote critical thinking. Our school's fundraising campaign referred to as "Swine Week" is greatly regarded as our school spirit in which we raise hundred's of thousand's of dollars to contribute to a select foundation. This in turn gathers the community as well as the families and students in an effort to create a benefitted, sufficient, and successful community as a whole. However, in the instances an outlier of negativity arose within the school, the administration and staff were consistent and efficient with how it was dealt with returning our school back to its safe, bonded, high school.... Middle School Student: This school is like most, except for a few notable areas. It has an extensive and large TSA program, as well as a special class called Mustang Productions which is a combination film/media class. Also, the eighth graders get personal laptops. Next year (2018), the seventh graders will as well, and then the year after, so will the sixth years. The biggest drawback is lack of teachers. Class sizes are ok. But due to the lack of willing teachers in Oklahoma , schools struggle to attract teachers. Thus Cheyenne has a large amount of average-subpar teachers- the bottom of the barrel. Don't get me wrong, there are some FANTASTIC teachers (Mrs. Macrory comes to mind) but there are a lot of second-stringers. Some are brand new- and I don't mean out of college. There are people who have never taught a day in their life who were roped in at the last second this year. Only a few teachers are truly bad, and only a few great. Middle School Student: i am currently in 7th grade and going to sequoyah. my experience here has been awesome. my teachers have been great. the person that reviewed this school and put a one star because of students on their phones without a doubt came in the school before the bell rang, which is a time before school when we can be on our phones. my time at this school has been amazing i will be going to another school next year because i'm moving i wish i could stay another year but that's not my choice to make. thank you sequoyah and i will savor the last couple months a have at this school.... Senior: As a current senior in Mercy School, I can say that I have enjoyed my experience at the school and have learned many things while being here. First things first, this school is an Islamic School and with that being said, you would have to be Muslim to attend the academic establishment. The school offers various tools such as Quran memorization, the Arabic language, and in-depth lessons on Shariah Law. The school is k-12, so there are children of all ages that attend the school. Students are respectful to school staff and to other students, making the overall atmosphere absolutely superb. The school offers a variety of different activities such as soccer teams for the lower grades and the National Honor Society for higher grades. I can personally say that I am thankful to my parents for putting me in this school due to the fact that it made me into the person I am today and has paved the path for a future to look forward to.... Junior: This is my first year as a transfer student at Santa Fe High School, and the second I walked in on day one, I was astounded at the size of the facility. Obviously I had trouble navigating around the campus, but the teachers and staff were extremely supportive and helpful in guiding the new students. The anti-virus measures are taken very strictly, with regular temperature checks and sanitization. The courses are very rigorous and offer plenty of insight into specific subjects, and the teachers are constantly in contact, offering help and resources. Students are very engaging and welcome to the "new kids". There are many clubs and activities that you could join to get a feel for the school culture and environment. The only real downside is the lack of diversity, but that really is a problem with the entire city, being predominantly Caucasian. Junior: Mount St. Mary Catholic High School is a great place to find a home inside of a school. All of the students are very friendly and the smaller classes leave room for collaboration and individual teaching. The school does have a uniform, which can be beneficial for some students. They are also stricter on things such as phones and personal expression. Students cannot dye their hair, have piercings or tattoos, and have to follow strict dress code when we have out-of-uniform days. Junior: I'm a current junior at Crossings Christian School and have been attending since 2nd grade. Crossings has a rigorous academic curriculum that not only teaches me the material needed to graduate but also allows me to find the connection of high school studies to the real world. The theater, vocals, and fine arts departments are wonderful! However, I would love to have more people involved in choir, band, orchestra, and musicals.
