Senior: When I first started at ASD in sixth grade, I was determined to go somewhere else for high school. Now, I'm a senior, and staying was the best choice I ever made. ASD might be small and nerdy, but it has an incredible community. The teachers aren't there for the money; they're there because they're passionate and knowledgeable. The students all know and support each other. We're best known for our academics, and for good reason. The high-school-level classes start in 7th grade, and they remain challenging and innovative all the way through 12th. Overall, ASD was ranked the number one high school in NH, and it truly is.... Middle School Student: I go here it is awesome! Everyone is so welcoming and is very kind and I already have a ton of friends. Curriculum is tough, but worth it, and you are still able to do out of school activities. Staff and Admins are amazing and genuinely care about the students education. There is a wide array of after-school clubs including but not limited to: Drama Club, Book Club, Sci-Fi Club, First Lego League, Math Counts, Science Quiz Bowl, and Band. Do note that the only sport they have is Middle School Cross-Country but you are able to participate in sports in your district. Parent: Our daughter is a sophomore and absolutely loves her teachers, classes, coaches, classmates, sports teams, music, singing, theatre and student leadership activities. It is an excellent, student- and community-centric school with an inclusive, positive culture. There is a morning, early and late afternoon bus to the seacoast and various other locations attracting students from NH and Mass. A wonderful school with really fantastic, caring teachers - most with masters and PhD's. The teachers and leaders of the school and the caring community they create are the reasons we are there. Parent: When our little elementary school closed at the end of our eldest son's Kindergarten year, we were heartbroken. We loved that the school community truly felt like family and welcomed any and all members from various backgrounds so openly. We were unsure where to send our children as a result of this closure until we toured Academy of Notre Dame. Not only did their professionalism and academic expectations remind us of our previous school, but upon hearing and seeing evidence that one of the cornerstones of the school is the celebration of diversity, we were convinced that we had found the perfect place for our children to learn and grow. These past 2 years have been nothing short of stressful, but one thing we did not have to worry about is whether or not our children were continuing to be educated and nurtured the same way they had that first part of the year at NDA when school was in person before Covid shut down the country. Parent: We sent our three children to BG, and it is amazing! There's not a single school in the area that can compare. The faculty and staff are all top notch, and students receive an education that extends well beyond the classroom. Our kids learned to work hard (which paid massive dividends in college!), and they all have awesome careers now (software engineer, NP, and a Major in the military!) Parent: Trinity has been a great experience for my family. My son has enjoyed his 4 years there and has excelled academically and socially. The staff and school do an tremendous job in preparing these students for college and be able to go out into the world and be successful. The challenging academics they offer really an realistic prep for what is to come for the next level. The athletics are great, he participated in golf and baseball, with supportive coaches and staff. Trinity creates a sense of belonging, being a small private school the staff and administrators help new students feel at ease when coming to a new school, my son was welcomed with open arms. The guidance staff is outstanding, they do a one on one walkthrough with each student it help them with there college essays and with ACT and SAT testing prep. Parent: Classic curriculum. Strong faith-based teaching. We have two children with different styles of learning and they are well accommodated. Small school. Tight knit community. Kindness pervades all aspects of life at this school; from teachers who care genuinely about their pupils mastering the subjects as well as applying the socratic method to debate and understand. The kids are well adjusted, kind, inclusive, confident and gracious. Multi-cultural, multi-racial mix. Everybody pitches in to make the school successful - parents as coaches, organizers, volunteers, board members, school leadership playing similar roles. Relaxed, tolerant environment. HFA feels like a different world than the lop-sided, oversensitive, angry and judgmental world we live in. Parent: Very safe and friendly environment for my children. The school wants the parents to get engaged in the school community which I appreciate so much. Zero bullying issues. My children feel respected and loved in this school. The teachers are happy and eager to communicate with the parents regarding any issue. The administrative team is very helpful and responsible. Reading, languages and art are great in the school , Math is not as strong , I have to work with my children at home. Science studies are very limited. Freshman: Mount Zion Christian Schools has been a large part of my life. I'm so glad I've been at this school for nine years and I really appreciate all the fun memories and close relationships I've obtained over the years. Mount Zion has an advanced teaching style which goes over the average. Classes are small, but that only increases the welcoming atmosphere. Everyone is friends with everyone. Teachers clearly care about their students and can have more focus on each individual. I find myself talking to teachers with more respect than I would with a teacher who just sees me as an everyday student. Teachers give their all for their students. The school has made many accommodations for me and my family. I follow a Messianic faith, which means I have food restrictions and I have certain holidays I have to take off of school for. Junior: During my time at Founders, I’ve overall had a positive experience. The majority of teachers here are nice, understanding, and devoted to making sure students reach mastery in class. The community at Founder’s is also good; I’ve never seen any bullying in my 5 years of attendance. The worst thing about this school is the lack of AP classes. I believe there’s only one available and it’s in computer science. I understand that it’s a new school, but it’s really annoying especially when trying to build up a college resume.... Senior: My overall experience at Gr Lowell Regional Vocational Technical has been amazing. I made connections with my teachers, made new friends, and also be one step closer to my goals. I like going to the voke knowing I get to have the opportunity to get an education in academics and also in my field of trade; two education at once. I appreciate the staff and teachers pushing students to succeed and to believe in themselves. I remember when I was a freshman, I was a very quiet shy girl, who didn't ask for help even when I was struggling. As time passed by, I felt more comfortable reaching out for help. Help is available and people do care about you. GLTHS is a safe environment compared to other schools, like LHS. I enjoy going to the voke and I am so glad to receive my education here. Parent: My son't first year as a 7th grader has been amazing. He is happy, feels protected; since bullying is taken care of swiftly, and is eager to learn. As a seasoned mother & having enrolled my adult children in both private and public schools this is hands down the best suited for my child. The teachers make time for extra help. Kindness and understanding brings about results. My son truly enjoyed his first year and has settled nicely even with COVID. The teachers gave time beyond measure to all their students. There is a sense of responsibility and compassion. He enjoyed his studies, the teachers made his studies relatable. History class was so informative; Mom even listened in during this COVID year :) . Senior: I really love that it is such a big school! There are so many amazing opportunities, like unique elective classes or niche extracurriculars. You are always surrounded by interested people too. However, the size of the school doesn't make you feel lost, I easily found my group of friends and my support system. Parent: Polaris is a hands on school whose philosophy is that every child should work to their full potential. With a one to 16 teacher to student ratio and a caring, nurturing administration that can really happen. This school is best for children who are driven to learn but need an alternative environment to really flourish. As a parent of Polaris you need to plan on being involved and volunteer, the school’s success is based on a “it takes a village” mindset. The ideal child that fits this school is gifted in at least a few subjects, curious about the world around them, has had difficulty being restrained to conventional education and would be better suited to a hands on environment.
