Mount Carmel isn't a school, it's a family and if you go there, you'll understand that the family is there for you ALWAYS! Senior: My experience at Bishop Noll institute has been amazing and unforgettable. I am part of the graduating class of 2023. I have been at Bishop Noll institute since my freshman and have grown up here. During my freshman year, the pandemic started and the staff and administrators have maybe the school safe and still fun, exciting, and engaging. The one thing that stands out here a Bishop Noll is the family environment. The School is rather, so it is easy to get know everyone and to really become close to them. The school offers a ton of clubs and programs p to help people become engaged and included. The one thing I would love to see change is a better representation of different races, ethnicities, and cultural. The school is very diversified but it needs to do a better job of making sure all the different students can be seen and heard. Senior: I have attended Calumet Christian School since first grade and I am now a Senior!! It has been amazing to see the school grow and improve every year. Senior: My experience at New Vistas so far is pretty decent. I came to New Vistas because a large school setting wasn't treating my mental health very well. Senior: Baker College Prep is a college bound school, with rigorous classes and high expectations that while at times seem unneeded, later become very useful in college. Teachers will make appointments to meet if you need extra help and there is always something to do. Junior: Overall, my experience at my school is something I truly appreciate. It is a sixth grade through twelfth grade school. And I enjoy growing up with the same classmates, including new ones. It’s good to see each and everyone one of them grow into their own person. I enjoy my school because it is a small school as well. You get to know your classmates better, and even the grade above or below you pretty well. You also get to grow a bond with the teachers. One of my greatest role models was my sixth grade global studies teacher. With all that being said, a small school does have its downsides. The athletics and overall sports aren’t very good. Middle School Student: I started going to Gary comer in 6th grade my 6th grade year was different I wasn’t expecting to go from a elementary school that allows us to do what we want to a school that’s very strict besides the school being strict I met some new friends I met new teachers and I also learned a lot I eventually transferred because of the discipline but I went back my high school year and completed my four years, it was a different feeling during my high school years because they changed the rules meaning they wasn’t as strict. Junior: This school treats me well. The administration cares about their students in school and even outside of school. The food and student resources quality needs improvement. If a child wants to take their education seriously I would recommend attending this school especially if you want to pursue higher education. The teachers at this school are fair and negotiable depending on your relationship with the teacher. However, the students usually act like they have no class or home training at all, some of them, not all of them. Senior: This school has become like home to me. The fact that I stayed in this school from middle school through high school allowed me to get comfortable with the students, staff, and the building itself. Till this day, there is still many places in the building that have not been discovered. The aid and support from the staff has always been there. There was not one time staff did not want to help me. Although the school is a great school, one of its defects would be the communication between the staff, mainly the teachers and counselors. It may have arose from the virtual due to covid; however, it still is no excuse. I witness first hand a couple of teachers advising one thing for college; meanwhile, the other says the complete opposite. As a senior, this frustrates me. It is very frustrating to be told different things a senior must do. I wish they would communicate more to help all students, specifically seniors. Sophomore: I can't do half-stars, but I would give Morton a 3.5. As a sophomore, my experience has been pretty good with the school. I've had some good teachers and there are great staff members as well. On the flip side, I believe the school should do more to help their students; we have teachers and counselors that don't have the best intentions for all their students. Senior: Personally, I loved the students and staff at my institution! From what I witnessed, everyone attempted to be inclusive and fought for the things that mattered the most. As a student, I felt heard and understood and I'm positive there are other students who feel the same. One thing I aspire to change, if possible, is the lack of interaction between students. My opening sentences stated that everyone was inclusive, which is not untrue, however, not everyone was included in all activities. This mainly being because the students didn't know much nor did they try to. Alum: My experience was good. I feel like they can do better with a lot of stuff such as stop focusing on the wrong things and prepare us for our future. They can also have more activities for us students to participate in at this point there are only two sports. Besides all of that they have very great teaching teachers they know what they are doing and they make sure that we understand they don't just move on. My years at Lighthouse was at first hard because I came in not focused, but I realized how important it was to pay attention and get worked done.
