Parent: Our children started GAC in 6th and 9th. After a year and a half I’m very impressed with the leadership, teachers, academics, and co-curriculars. Our children are very different; one is academic & artsy and one loves sports more than school. We chose GAC because it would be a great fit for both. As we go into the second semester of year 2, both kids are thriving! They have found great community and tried new things. My athletic child has discovered a passion in film editing and my theatre kid played 2 sports! We are thrilled to see them grow academically, spiritually, and socially. Our 6th grader was behind in math when she arrived due to covid /public school and because of great teachers, encouraging administrators she is now in honors math with an A. Our highschooler has great teachers too in Biology, English, Math, Bible, and Coach Aldrin helped him discover he LOVES history! Chemistry, not so much. Overall GAC has exceeded our expectations!... Parent: Our family has been at Mount Pisgah for four years now, and we absolutely love our school. We have two children now at the school, and both of them love going every day. As a parent, you want to feel like someone genuinely cares about your children while they're at school, and at Mount Pisgah, I know many people care and love our kids. No school is perfect, and there will be faculty changes and issues that come up, but it's how the administration handles those issues that make the difference. I know when I drop my children at school every day they are getting the best education in the best environment. Our absolute favorite thing about MP is the community in which it builds. Alum: As a recent graduate of KHCS, I only have great things to say about my time there. I didn't fully appreciate or understand what I had until college application season came around. While many students have a fear that they do not do enough in their high school career, I felt so well-rounded because KHCS offers so many opportunities for me to be involved. There is a successful fine arts programs including acting, choir, band, and competitions. Many clubs such as Math Club, Quiz Bowl, or even being able to run my own club. There are a multitude of sports and willing coaches who made it easy to start a sport. It was all a matter of me being willing to try what was available to me. I especially appreciated our small tight-knit community that allowed me to develop a good teacher-student relationship with many of my teachers so when it came time to ask for recommendations I had so many people who had great words to say about me. Parent: Providence Christian Academy has been my family’s second home for 3 years now. My husband and I prayed for a diverse environment where our students could grow confidently in their faith, learn to navigate life as testifying Christ-followers, and feel comfortable in their own skin. Like all schools, there has been some transition during our time here, and there is room for growth. While our student body is very diverse, I do wish our administration and faculty mirrored that diversity. However; this community has proven to be approachable and one that understands, we may all stumble, but we have to be willing to reach out our hand and help someone gain their footing again. Sophomore: PRHS is a great high school compared to many of the other locations in GA. The academic and elective courses are engaging and that’s due in no small part to the amazing teachers and staff who work hard to make learning enjoyable for their students. The wide variety of elective courses make me feel secure in finding classes and information that helps me in preparation for college. If I were to cite one downside about my school, it would have to be interpersonal conflict between students and a select few of the staff members. While this issue is not entirely the fault of the school, I’ve seen in some cases where the disciplinary actions some staff members had taken to resolve issues between students to be lacking to say the least. With that addition however, these occurrences are far and few between and doesn’t represent the school in its entirety nor make PRHS a bad place to attend school. Parent: This is our 3rd year at ICSAtlanta (2 children). My son attended another local area charter school, which we chose because they teach Arabic. Because language instruction was just a few days a week, he was not learning very much. Now he is fluent in French! My daughter is proficient as well. Both kids LOVE their teachers and the environment there. No school is perfect, but this is as close as it gets for our family. My daughter started in K and will hopefully get all the way through in 8th grade. My son is looking forward to middle school next fall after an amazing elementary experience. Works Here: Rivers Academy has an amazing staff that genuinely care about the students both academically and personally. It doesn’t just “house” students , it caters to each child’s passion or path through personalized schedules with accountability by using school time efficiently. Parent: In our experience at the school, the teachers are the very heart of what makes this place so special. They are welcoming, knowledgeable, and experts in their fields. My children know they can get help when they need it from any of their teachers, and they also come home having been challenged in the best ways during the school day. They tell me that their classes are fun & engaging! On another note, the school has worked hard to build a strong sense of community through a Warrior House system, the various clubs & sports that are available to students, as well as dances and family events.
