Senior: St. John Paul is one of the best communities that I have ever attended. The teachers, faculty, and staff want their students to be successful and provide resources to students that are failing so that they can end up graduating. They care about leading a Christ-like life and being successful. I have had some of the most amazing teachers that I am unafraid of asking for help, or joining in on class discussions. Being on the running teams and being involved in extracurricular activities such as student government has been so enlightening and enriching. There is so much love for this school!... Parent: My children have been happy with the involvement of their teachers and staff at Westminster. They go above and beyond to help them meet their goals, provide extra help if needed, and to engage in their academic and spiritual lives. The school recently added new learning tracks for high school including medical, engineering, and several more. My student has taken college level classes and felt very prepared. Alum: I went to Madison Academy for 14 years, and I enjoyed every minute! The Administration is always willing to help you learn and grow both as a student and person. They genuinely care about each one of the students! While there are plenty of extracurricular activities, athletics are most notable. The Fine Arts department, though small, is rapidly growing each year, and I'm so proud to have been a part of the Band, Choir, and Theatre. The Christian environment has helped many students, myself included, grow in their spiritual lives. Parent: HIS has significantly contributed to my child both academically, socially and emotionally this year. Despite all of the Pandemic barriers this year brought on, excellent in person learning(and virtual) was provided and teachers went above and beyond to help my child remediate and enrich his skills. Their focus on the social/emotional health and character development of my child has left a long lasting impression that “someone really does care.” From the administration daily greeting at Carline, to the counselor’s encouraging words, to the student led teams, a parent couldn’t ask for a better place for their child to belong. Sophomore: If I had to pick a historical figure to bring back from the dead it would be Maya Angelou. When I first heard about Angelou I never really considered or knew about the impact she had on the world until I heard her words.When I heard about her death in 2015, I was devastated. She had inspire me ,through all of middle school, to be a phenomenal women. Now, through her words I’m now more confident in everything I do. Alum: Overall, I had a good high school experience. My freshman and sophomore years were quite easy, as I think they should have been, since they allowed me to enjoy the things I learned without being drowned by them. When Junior year came around the difficulty increased, but the quality of the teachers only slightly, leading to a more difficult year. As a result, the Covid pandemic, which struck that spring and sent us home felt more like a breath of fresh air than an exile. Senior year, though, was a complete turnaround. While classes became even more arduous, the quality of the teachers was legendary, and they smoothed out the rough edges of the course material, even making the work enjoyable. These teachers truly cared about their students; not the grades they made, but what they learned and how they improved. Junior: Austin high school is a newer school and isn't the worst but not the best. The students are very smart because the cliques that formed shame for having low grades even for the students in the advance classes. It has quite a bit of AP classes, but the teachers require more training because the passing rates are low. For my AP Psych test I mainly studied with the materials given by AP classroom, and I made a 4 on the test. But the students that followed that teacher's materials did not make a good score. Senior: While attending at Athens Bible School, I have met many wonderful Christian examples. The administration is very hands on and each faculty member makes it their goal to ensure that every student grows, not only academically, but also spiritually. Each day begins with Chapel and Bible class, because spiritual growth is infinitely more important than academic progress. Many subjects provide the opportunity to receive college credit through the Dual Enrollment program, along with receiving a high school credit as well. Many students are involved in the sports programs at Athens Bible School. The coaches take special care to teach their players good sportsmanship, even if a game isn't going how they want it to. I look forward going to school each day and spending time with my friends, as well as attending practices and other extracurricular activities. Sophomore: I am so thankful for this school and the ways God has used it in my life. The teachers care so much about you and never go a day without checking on you. They say they are praying for you and they really mean it. The teachers are willing to help you with anything anytime you need it.
