Alum: Sion is such an amazing school! I was able to take several ACCP and AP classes and entered college with many credits that allowed me to graduate in 4 years with a double major and minor. Works Here: A lot of school communities refer to themselves as a family, but very few are committed to the work it takes to be true. HBHA is really special. Senior: Aquinas has been my home for the past four years and I would not trade those years for anything. This school has given me a family that I will be a part of for the rest of my life. It has stellar academics and a very faith-filled community. There are many clubs, groups, and teams to be a part of. Everyone at this school is somehow involved in extracurricular activities. School spirit at STA is always in the air. From the pep assemblies to the football games, every student cheers on the saints. The teachers are some of the kindest, most supportive people I have ever met. I have not encountered a single teacher that I did not like or did not enjoy in their class. Senior: These past four years have been an absolute blast! First off, SJA is a school that proudly shares the Catholic faith with all of its students and has helped me grow exponentially in my own faith via daily Mass, weekly confessions, and adoration. Alum: I attended Mize a great many years ago, and many things have changed. Much of the staff from Mize Elementary moved to Belmont Elementary when the latter was built. Mize is in a sleepy area of Lenexa, receiving students from both the suburbs of Shawnee and the outskirts of the small town of De Soto. Its students are predominantly white, living in middle-class homes. The school is well-funded accordingly, including a brand-new playground. Senior: Coming to Maranatha from a public school made a huge difference in my education. I am so glad I have had the privilege of learning from a Christian education. Most of the teachers and staff are kind and helpful and are always open to answering your questions. Some people in leadership need to be replaced and currently, Maranatha is in the process of doing that. Sports programs can definitely become better, but being on a team with the MCA community is great. I wish Maranatha had a counselor so the students could come talk to him/her about personal problems instead of burying the teachers with their problems. Middle school student: The best part is that they have a weekly club season that you must join. It’s great because they want to see you involved giving you a wide variety of clubs to your interest. Besides, all of the teachers are really nice and are willing to help you with any assignment and questions you have. The library has a lot of books for many people. Senior: De Soto is such a welcoming school and has outstanding educators and staff that help you prepare for your future. There are so many opportunities for involvement and awesome programs that can help you get a better understanding of what you want to do. De Soto has so many awesome programs such as CTE classes. There are not many other schools that have so many clubs and opportunities to serve the community. There are so many options for advanced placement classes and after I graduated I had 17 credit hours! This school has such an inclusive environment and students that really just enjoy being there. Not only does De Soto focus on preparing you for your future but they show how much they care about their students. There are so many ways De Soto has advocated for mental health and school-life balance. I would not trade my experience at De Soto for the world. Senior: Olathe West is one of the biggest and fancy schools throughout Johnson County. It is a three build floor with the most neat and fancy classrooms. Olathe West truly makes you feel as if you were at your own house. The teachers are super nice and staff. Olathe West High School is at the next level, you don't feel in high school. This school makes you feel as if you are already in college. Definitively the best school of all the other public schools. Works Here: I am a teacher at ASOP. I love coming to work every day. Our student population is unique and fun. Each student is treated like an individual, rather than a number. The administration is caring and want the best for the students, faculty, and staff. I can't imagine teaching anywhere else and I wouldn't want to go anywhere else. Parent: Holy Trinity has been a strong Catholic institution for many decades. As an alum, it was an easy choice to send my children to HTS. Their teachers go above and beyond what is expected and I get consistent updates about my children's classes. The administration is transparent and does well under pressure.
