Sophomore: Peddie makes an effort to inform prospective students of its academic rigor. And oh, is school hard at Peddie! The typical school day is packed with a class of challenging math, a productive discussion in Humanities, lectures and labs in Chemistry, Biology or Physics, and more. Students can explore and succeed in a many fields including Computer Science, the Arts or an additional language. After school, students are engaged in a required extracurricular activity. Many students opt for sports, which all have practices in state-of-the-art facilities with the guidance of devoted coaches. I've been on the swim team for the past year, and have found team culture to be wonderful and supportive. Other activities include being in the cast or set crew of musicals, Robotics (FRC), and community service. Senior: I really enjoyed the academics at Biotech, although the classes were definitely difficult. I felt that I was being pushed past my limit at times, feeling overwhelmed and discouraged. Some of my friends had bad experiences with staff members, and the mental health and morale of the school could definitely be improved. I would like to see some change in those areas, possibly through more peer meetings to talk about mental health or something similar. Parent: My children have been at Hatikvah since Kindergarten and my eldest is now in middle school there. The education is unrivaled. The support from teachers and staff is amazing. They truly care about each and every student in the school - in their academic, personal, and social growth and development. In every area - from reading and writing to math and science to music and art. I am surprised but my children still LOVE going to school every day! Alum: I liked the music department the most specifically the marching band and concert bands. I loved being a part of it. The academics were also good I just felt like some of the teachers could have been a little more caring. I did feel ready for college after graduating but I think a lot of that is just because of my personality. I always worked hard to be my best self, not because the teachers fostered it. The sports were good I think. My sister was on many of the sports teams and she loved them. The football and basketball games along with others were always fun to watch. I think the administration could have done a better job with handling different things that happened. They didn't always listen to what students and parents were concerned with. Overall, I think I had a good experience because of the music program and my friends. Parent: One of the best decisions I have ever made for my son. He was failing in public school once he was in 3rd grade. This started affecting him mentally being that he always did well in his previous grades. He became reserved and did not want to go to school. He had no friends because he could not relate with his classmates. When I sent him to St Bartholomew for his 4th grade, he had no problem fitting in. He made a lot of friends right away. The students and teachers went beyond and above to accommodate him . He started enjoying going to school and excelled in class. The teachers are hands on with their students . Niche User: This school rocks! My daughter went here and loves it! Caring and involved teachers who really take efforts your child is doing well academically and socially. Also love that this school doesn't 'punish' they have conversations with the child and talk things through, and understand the child. They don't try to make the child 'feel bad' they try to help the child understand why what they did was wrong.
