Senior: Dublin Jerome High School has been a great experience for me! It is a very academically driven school that has definitely challenged me. They offer a myriad of different classes that can accommodate so many individual needs including their use of Emerald Campus, Tolles campus, AP classes, IB classes, honors classes, and CCP classes. Senior: Olentangy Liberty High School is very large, and with it you can meet many people. It is always strange walking the hallways and seeing people you didn’t even know existed everyday. I really enjoyed the large school and the school pride present. There are an array of classes and the teachers really care. However, I would like to see a change in the way the school deals with cases involving bullying. As of now, for Ana cation to be considered bullying, it must happen many times and the victim must say stop, or else it’s just harassment. This protocol puts the victims in more danger and pushes kids not to speak up about it because it heavily favors the bully. Junior: I absolutely LOVE Olentangy Berlin High School! We are a new school having only been open since 2018, yet we have already won Varsity Brands “Most Spirited High School” award in 2022! The culture within our walls is incredible! You’ll often hear both students and teachers alike saying “shoulder-to-shoulder” signifying that we are family. Every Friday nearly 100% of staff and students wear the school colors: double blue! Every student knows their “home” address (the school’s address). Our student section knows and abides by the conviction that “we cheer for our school, NOT against the other school,” so you will not never hear trash-talking at games or events from our Bears, but you will hear LOUD support for all our sports teams and clubs! Football players attend soccer games, cross country runners cheer at volleyball games - because we’re all one family and we support one another on! It has a great academic program and stellar athletic program. Only complaints: it is not very diverse, and there are many times I have felt prejudiced against as a Latina. It's also great because it is a small school, so I pretty much know most of the people that go there, so it's easy to make friends. Senior: I have attended Buckeye Valley since the first grade. Teachers have always been reasonable, understanding and have been able to successfully teach the topic at hand. I am very involved in the school, such as being a cheerleader, a leader of our school club Bv Mentoring, a Leader of our school club Bv Ambassador’s, and a member of NHS. Being involved in these types of activities have bettered my experience at Buckeye Valley because it has given me the opportunity to get close with those I go to school with, as well as being able to enjoy what the school offers. The school community has always come together as a family especially in time of need. We have lost a few members of our BV community and those incidents has brought us together even more than what we were before. If I had to change anything about the school experience it would be to have more life skills classes. Senior: Fugees Academy is a small private school for refugee students. These students come from all over the world with different experiences and new things to share with the world. Many of the kids have been through war. For many of these kids, Fugees is like a second chance at life that they have been given. Fugees is a really hands on school. Senior: Horizon science academy was not the type of school I thought I would end up in when I moved from New York City to Ohio. To begin with, the school had so much diversity, people from China, East Africa, West Africa, Asia, Cuba,etc. Overall, this school has amazing staff members who support the students, a great big community that sticks together, and many wonderful opportunities when it comes to education, getting ahead for your future, and extracurricular activities. One thing that does need to be changed is the location of the school. The building itself was a furniture store prior to becoming a school.
