Parent: My children have been at Village from elementary through high school, and we are happy that our kids are thriving academically, mentally, socially, and emotionally at school. Village has the most diverse student population of any school in Houston, and we have enjoyed meeting families who have lived abroad just like us, and the international parent community is very welcoming too. We love the close-knit and small community, and the teachers really get to know your children as students are able to form connections with their teachers. Students are challenged with a rigorous academic program that is very much hands-on with individual and team projects that encourage creativity and innovation. The teachers are passionate about teaching and making a difference, and my children know they have a strong support system and teachers who care about them. Parent: Our primary aged children had a great experience at the British International school of Houston over the 2 years. Through the IPC approach, our children have developed a real love of learning and are inquisitive and confident to try new things in the safe environment the school has created. The phonics program for young readers is really effective. From a COVID perspective, they did a wonderful job of setting up the learning environments such that in person lessons could continue. Teachers seem to genuinely love teaching and care for their students, whilst the support teams are very helpful. Senior: Seven Lakes Highschool is a wonderful school to go to! The Fine Art Department is great in every category. The Orchestra does amazing, the band does amazing, the choir does amazing, the theater department is super cool! It's great to express yourself there. The education is good too. Most teachers are good and nice. Some teachers are absolutely amazing and will go beyond. The athletic department does great except in football but we'll get there one day. Senior: This school values education as its highest priority. You would think that was obvious but from my experience of moving multiple times, I've seen that schools value extracurriculars more than their children's future lives. This school has prepared me for life and has set me on the right course for college. They provided me a 4-year engineering course, a vast selection of AP courses, and most importantly the best teachers to teach those classes. All my AP teachers were engineers, accountants some even doctors who found a passion for teaching, and they all inspired me to pursue a higher level of education. Now don't get me wrong extracurricular were not lacking. I found my place in the marching band where I became a two-year section leader and a top band trombone player. The band is amazing, and I learned how to lead at a high level which will prepare me for my life in the future. Parent: We've been looking all over the country to find the best Islamic school which will offer our kids the best of both worlds. We found schools which had amazing academics structure but lacked in inslamic teaching and we also found schools which gave islamic studies preference an lacking in academy. We decide to move our kids to Eygpt until Allah guided us to HQA & we found exactly what we wanted for our kids. HQA surprised all over our expectations when we came an visit the school in the summer. I've never seen so many Quran Hafiz in one school. What shocked us even more was that students didn't just memorize the Quran, they were able to translate what they read into English. HQA Sat overall average was 1350. Parent: St. John is a wonderful College Prep school. I have two boys there, one of which is a graduating senior! I have watched him through his four years at St. John, and he is completely ready to move on to college in the fall. The block system that St. John uses mimics a real college experience, and prepares their students thoroughly for their next step in life. What more could a parent ask for in a high school for their children? Senior: I just graduated from Cinco ranch high school in 2022. When I attended this school I absolutely loved it. It was mentally challenging bc I did do all pre-AP but the teachers were phenomenal. Some classes were so challenging it had taught me enough in which I still use in college. Choir was so fun with chanting different languages and learning to read music resulting in us winner UIL every year. The smell of fresh cut grass reminds me of athletics which is kinda traumatizing from all the running but worth the endurance in the end. Also, my basketball ball coach we all loved herr she brought us from being the underdogs to taking us to our championship game; as well as our security guard for the three years I was there we all adored them. The friends I made here were so warming and kind I still keep in touch. I know I haven’t stepped foot inside in about 6 years but I miss your warm memories Beck. Senior: The teachers were very good when I went there. I felt held to a high standard that I feel other schools at the time did not deliver. Students are responsible for their own education of the Arts, Music, and Sports. That left more time for focusing on academics. The school put tremendous focus on AP and Dual Credit courses. Parent: I have three boys and my youngest just started kindergarten at Exley. My other two attended Exley as well but now the oldest is a senior and my middle child is in junior high. So it was like starting all over again which can be a little different each time but registration was a breeze the staff is super organized and have stations setup. I feel like no matter how many years pass by the staff at Exley keeps improving in every way that keep up with the trends, paperwork is all electronic they are kind and most of all I feel so blessed to have them take care of our children as their own.
