Senior: Overall, I've had a lot of fun here at GFS. I really felt the school's Quaker values shine through throughout my experience here, whether it was through calling teachers by their first names, or beginning certain classes with moments of silence, or attending weekly Meeting for Worship. It felt like the teachers were genuinely invested in seeing their students succeed, and were always very accessible. For the most part, the students were just as great, both inside and outside of class. It is a touch cliquey, but overall, there was a great sense of community, and I loved my time at GFS.... Senior: Masterman's school community is very close knit and being a small school everyone knows each other. Currently there seems to be a lot of issues that has risen due to the COVID pandemic such as a shortage of teachers as well as the lack of resource. Although there are little variety in the sports and clubs at Masterman, club are fairly easy to startup if you were passionate about something. Parent: My daughter picked AFS for High School for its campus, culture and engaging community. She felt welcomed from the first time we visited thru her entire time so far even though her friends were going to school elsewhere. We couldn't be happier with our choice as our child is thriving academically as well as with her extracurricular activities. The student population is very diverse and her friends are spread out throughout Philadelphia, Bucks and Montgomery county. Niche User: SCH is an incredible school! I know several families that have sent their children to SCH and they have all been thrilled with their experience (even during COVID). The faculty is hands-on, enthusiastic, and supportive but they also encourage students to grow, make mistakes and learn on their own. The elective offerings in the upper school are interesting and give students the ability to pursue their individual interests at a high level and their CEL and robotics programs are wildly popular and highly supported just like the sports and arts. Alum: Phil-Mont has great teachers who are committed to the success of their students. The school’s staff and faculty are credentialed professionals with years of experience. Several of the teachers have been there for over thirty years! The Phil-Mont community is supportive, the environment is safe, and the academics are strong. After Phil-Mont, I went on to complete three postsecondary degrees (a bachelor’s degree, and two masters degrees), and I feel that Phil-Mont prepared me well for that path. I thrived academically, emotionally, and spiritually in college because of the solid spiritual and academic foundation I received at Phil-Mont. I wouldn’t hesitate to send my kids to this school. Senior: Franklin Towne Charter high school is a great college preparatory school. They make sure all students are on task with their education and extra curricular activities. They try their best to give their students as much support as possible. This school gives out help to any student in need. Teachers stay after school to help the students that are falling behind so that they will better understand content and assignments. Franklin Towne is a safe environment for students. They have security around the school and they also have security in the school. Security does random school bag checks to make sure that no one is carrying a weapon with them or any substances. They also do random metal detector tests on students to insure everyones safety. Every once in a while Franklin Towne brings K9 dogs to sniff out students lockers to make sure everything is right. Junior: My school will always have a special place in my heart. As a cheerleader for my school, I was able to attend every football and basketball game. Being able to do the hobby I loved with my friends always made me grateful. My school’s football team was even fortunate enough to make it into state championships! As my team won the final round of playoffs, I remember jumping up and down holding my best-friend crying of excitement. An exhilarating shock of victory streaming through my veins prompted me to smile so hard my cheeks would begin to hurt.
