Parent: Our son has loved his experience at The International School of Minnesota in the past two years and is excited to start Kindergarten there in the fall. As parents, we love the community, dedicated and experienced teachers, weekly swimming lessons, and also the fact that they start learning foreign language already in preschool. Extended day is also a big plus, and they offer a variety of different after-school activities (gymnastics, swimming, nature explorers, Lego club, science explorers, etc.) that students are able to sign up for on-site in the afternoon. Senior: The classes are hard but the teachers will help you through it .Most of the teachers come in early to help students and stay late. Our school is really small but is growing quickly so recently our administration is working on creating more community events. Course offerings in high school are not very diverse, but as our student body grows the school has shown interest in expanding course options. As an incoming senior who has been there since fifth grade, I have been through several moves and renovations with the school as it grows in size and each time we get a new space it is used and students are generally pleased with its use. We just got a new catering service and the pizza is so good I can't wait to try more of the food! Parent: ISLA has been such an incredible school for our children. Our kids love going to school, the staff is incredibly loving, nurturing and skilled. I’m so impressed with the IB curriculum and the reflection on being an engaged and caring global citizen. I also am so impressed with how strong my daughters’ Spanish has become! What a gift it is to have the ability to communicate in two languages. Also, I have loved the community. People care about each other and the well being of each other’s kids. Senior: Overall, I really loved my experience at Chan!! It’s got a great variety of extracurriculars and classes, the hall monitors are so welcoming and disarming and actually just built-in buddies, and I met some of my best friends in the whole world here. The counselors can be a mixed bag, but you can oftentimes ask for one that fits you better!! There are some neutral teachers, but there’s also some that are truly special and willing to connect and help their students, and I’ve always clicked that ‘I have a trusted adult in the building’ button because of them. School culture isn’t huge because of how young we are as a school, but we’re working on making traditions and stuff ! :D There are definitely still jerks though, and the administration takes its sweet time with dealing with them, that’s one of my main criticisms. Senior: Overall this school is very good. On the academic side, it is very good with teachers who actually care about what they teach and the students they are teaching. The Biblical teaching here is also very good. It is definitely not in your face like many Christian schools are stereotyped, but taught in a way that is meaning full and helpful to guide students toward a lifelong relationship with God. Although the environment is good, it is a much smaller school than your average school, but that is not a bad thing. The activities here are limited, but overall enjoyable experience. Sports are average at this school, but they have definitely shown upside these past few years, and with a new expansion on the way, they will make leaps towards more championships. Junior: Chesterton is the best! Regarding academics, I find school to be challenging but super enjoyable. We have normal classes like math and lit, but there's also a big focus on the arts and such. Many of our classes are discussion-based, and the ones that aren't still end up in important conversations. The teachers are great at explaining whatever you need (especially random/off-topic questions/philosophical problems). They definitely like to pile on the homework, though! Regarding the community: practically everybody, from the staff to the students, is Catholic, and discussions about the faith seep into just about everything. We have daily mass (epic!) with confession available after, theology class, grade-level retreats, the Handmaids next door, and the adoration chapel and church to pray in before, during, or after school. The small class sizes mean that students are closer to each other and more welcoming to new students. This makes it so much easier to find virtuous, lasting friends.... Read 23 reviews

Senior: Chaska always strives for inclusivity and pride from all students! In my time at Chaska High School I have always felt welcomed and safe making sure my peers feel the same as well. If there was ever a conflict I know many of the trusted teachers would be willing to help students no matter who they were. I enjoyed the structure of the classes throughout the day and the teachers always had a complete schedule everyday full of learning. Niche User: The PTO the past two years (2014-2015) has been led by committed, super smart parents. Pockets of parents are uber connected and committed. It's harder when you work outside of the home, but I am thankful for the parents that volunteer at the school, whether it's once or often. We have two children - one has been through Bluff Creek and one is currently at Bluff Creek. We feel super connected to the parents of the same gender / same grade level as our two kids, but not necessarily to the rest of the school-aged community. Middle School Student: Chaska Middle School East is a good school. The staff members are very kind to students and challenge students appropriately based on their needs. There are some behavior problems in the school but students do get disciplined when necessary. Works Here: Chaska Middle School West is an incredible school! PRIDE is evident in every aspect of the school. The teachers care deeply for the students. The administrators play an active, visible daily role in the running of the school. But, the main reason CMSE is amazing is the students. They show up ready to work hard each day. Middle School Student: Pioneer Ridge is a great school! I love going there. All the teachers are super nice, and they do a good job of challenging you based on what you like to learn and what you need to improve. I like the options we have during WIN time because they can be fun or you can use the time to learn and study. It's a great balance of being challenging yet fun when they teach.
