Senior: Coming to Westtown has been one of the greatest decisions I have made to date. Westtown has allowed me to gain experience in leadership, as well as build strong bonds with my peers and faculty. The academics are challenging, but not to the point where it consumes you, and there is plenty of support for students. I've had the wonderful opportunity to try new things and explore, and I learn more about myself every day while there. The fact that it is a Quaker school also adds a unique experience to Westtown. You don't have to be a Quaker to attend, but religious diversity is celebrated at Westtown, as well as learning about other religions. As a Muslim, Westtown has supported me tremendously throughout the month of Ramadan. All in all, a wonderful experience. Parent: Malvern faculty and staff have such a special gift tapping into our son's inner strengths. My son went from parochial to public school before finding his home at Malvern. He was quiet and ok with coming to school, doing his best each day. After a few short weeks his team of teachers have worked with him to place him in challenging classes, encouraging his participation in campus events, and stepping out of his comfort zone to explore a student leadership role. His first year provided so much personal awareness and growth. He began his journey learning who he is and how to build on these strengths, as well as recognize where he needs to be challenged. Something we spent many years partnering with outside counselors and teachers in his previous schools with little success. We knew we were missing something and the Malvern staff have been able to help him so quickly and effectively. Alum: The best thing about Villa is the environment of its classrooms. Villa girls are encouraged to speak their minds and are expected to do so without fear of 'being wrong' or 'sounding stupid.' Villa girls become truly comfortable asking questions, sharing opinions, or even contesting the teacher; nor do they fear judgement from classmates when speaking their minds. Encouraging young women to feel comfortable in a classroom facilitates high performance in college and in the work force. Villa's dedication to encouraging young women to confidently articulate themselves in the classroom sets their graduates up for real success - I am truly grateful for this formative experience. The big drawbacks: some admin. individuals were difficult to deal with and enforced rules to a very intense degree - which fostered a culture more focused on fear of punishment than growth and self-discovery. Parent: The Phelps school was perfect for our son, not only academically, but socially as well. He needed more attention from teachers than he could get at any other school. It was very easy for our son to sit quietly, doing the minimum. But, the terrific teachers at Phelps would nicely encourage his participation. His grades improved. Senior: I had been introduced to the classical learning method employed by Regina Luminis at a young age, in 1st - 3rd grade at one of its sister schools, Regina Angelourum in Ardmore, PA. After leaving, I was bounced around various other curriculums, but I was not content. All of my classes seemed static and compartmentalized, and I felt I was actually learning very little. RLA provided this much-needed coherence; I was shown how interwoven and engaging my many subjects were. The operative word there is "shown:" I was not being force-fed information to simply regurgitate it onto a test. I was shown not what to think, but how. Alum: My time in Coatesville Area High School was very short; thanks to Covid and moving in sophomore year to the school I never really had the chance to capture the whole experience of attending full time. However, for the time I was there impression it gave me was the school is a safe haven for everyone. The staff, teachers, and students are very diverse and together create a warm as well as accepting learning environment. Everyone could easily find a group of friends or allies to grow connections with. Then there was the teachers and staff, whom worked diligently to make sure we received the help and guidance we needed to survive our journey through high school growing from teens to adults. Whether we were struggling or not there was always someone to turn to and I'm very thankful for that. Even during Covid the school never wavered in its treatment towards students. Senior: Faith Mennonite High School has been an amazing experience! It is a smaller school, around 80 students, which makes for a tighter community type school. The school is founded on Anabaptist teachings, and the passion and reverence for the school's beliefs are evident in the lives of the leaders there. At Faith, teachers care a lot for their students, not only in their academics but also in their relationship with Christ. Parent: Excellent environment for high schoolers to grow ! My daughter is thriving here with the support of the instructors, the Head of School and the entire Fusion community. It's a school that has the power to make each student that attends Fusion Academy Malvern to feel that they are important and can do their best because they are worth it and are able to. The teachers put a lot of effort into teaching their courses and make them especially interesting for the kids. Works Here: Working at CBA has been my favorite teaching experience so far. The community is highly inclusive, influencing the students to be the same. Parent: Transferring to Montgomery was the best decision we made. After a very short time our child has become much more independent and confident. She loves school! In previous years she never enjoyed science. Now, science is her favorite subject! (the science teacher by the way is incredible!) All teachers are at Monty. Each teacher is unique and fully invested. Entering as the “ new kid” mid year did not phase her one bit. The admissions team, faculty, students and family laid out the red carpet for our daughter. The children are kind, polite and inclusive. Montgomery is more than a school, it is a family. Our only regret is that we didn’t enroll years ago. Thrilled we found this gem of a school! Parent: We feel making the choice to send our children to PJP2 was the best decision we could have made! Our children look forward to going to school and we feel that is due to the exemplary teaching and community feel of the school. Their teachers are amazing, caring, really love and support the children, organized and professional. Their teachers really take the time to get to know every one of the children. The school gives you a sense of family and belonging to a community. We feel strongly our children are getting the best education and in our opinion they are further ahead by going to PJP2.
