Buffalo Grove High School
#33 Best Public High Schools in Illinois
Senior: Just for reference, I am a higher end student, who took many AP and honors courses. Students at the lower end of the spectrum may have differing experiences. Nevertheless, I found that many of my teachers were motivated when teaching their students. There definitely is diversity at this school, but it still feels very gentrified. For students who are motivated, this is a great school. Counselors often recommend certain classes, whether it be normal, AP, or dual credit, depending on what you want to do when you graduate. The food is above average, I never had problems with it. This probably varies class-to-class, but I never found issues with bullying. I never participated in music or arts so I can't speak for that department. The school has also been very responsible with it's response to COVID-19; if it lets students in-person, those students can be assured they are taken care of.
