Senior: I've experienced all my high school ups and downs at Wausau West High School. Through my four years here, I never once felt out of place or like I didn't belong. The best part of being a student here is the many communities. I like that you may have your main friend group, but there's always another group or community for another of your small niche interests. You don't have to stick with one thing; they encourage participation in many programs. From my perspective, there's not much to complain about here considering my personal needs. Senior: Personally I enjoy the school as a general. The teachers are nice and supportive about making you learn. The students are also great to be around. Senior: The Marathon School District has excellent resources for helping students learn. My time with them has been a unique experience for me. I started out in Special Ed. and was able to be dismissed from their services by the time I was a sophomore; this was only possible for me because of the wonderful adaptive programs they have, not only for students in my situation, hyperactive and diagnosed with ADHD but for those with more physical limitations. The teaching staff is wonderful and work their hardest to make sure each and every student succeeds; if a student is struggling, they will do their very best to make sure the student has the resources available to succeed.... Sophomore: I really like the different groups that we have and all of the clubs that are run. Most of the teachers are very educated in what they teach and try to make learning interesting. There is a lot of exclusion and grouping that goes on in the student body. And there is a lot of favoritism with the high school staff. Junior: I like that this school allows students to work at their own pace. The downfall of this is that students who are not motivated to do their work, will not get anything done. This school teaches students to accept others because everyone is at this school for a different reason. This school is very different from East High and I wouldn't want to change a thing. Senior: Faith Christian Academy (FAITH) has been a very transformational school for me. I started at FAITH my sophomore year in high school and was very pleased with what such a small school had to offer. I was able to get involved very quickly in a variety of events, clubs, and sports. When I started at FAITH the school offered Student Government, but it was very limited, this year they removed that option for our school which left a large number of conflicts. The things I value, in a work and school environment, are structure and community. I love the community at FAITH, I have easy personal access to all my teachers and a great connection to the students. One thing I hope improves at FAITH is their structure. High school is hard for any growing adolescent, and I've seen a variety of conflicts evolve out of this lack of structure. Faith Christian Academy helped me develop into who I'm and I am so grateful for my education, however there is no thing that is sufficient without change.... Read 2 reviews
