Parent: My daughter has attended MVS since Kindergarten. She is now in 6th grade and I could not have asked for a better immersive learning environment to inspire her education. Every single teacher has truly known my child, cared deeply about her, and supported getting the best out of her, scholastically and emotionally. Equal development of EQ & IQ! Junior: I think attending STEM has been an amzing experience for me. The teachers are excellent at personalizing how they help each student accomplish goal and overcome challenges. While it is a STEM school, they also focus on other topics such as art and college exploration and economics. STEM is a comfortable environment with supportive staff encourage growth, collaboration, and independence. Senior: I love the teachers here! They are all very nice and great teachers. The sports, arts, and extra curriculares are great overall. The food served for lunch was recently updated and is very good with lots of options, and there are always new updates. The school has air conditioning, which is very nice to have during the beginning and end of the school year when it can get pretty hot outside. Academically, Alter challenges their students and makes sure they get a great education and are prepared for college. The school is very safe and everyone there is welcoming and nice. Parent: Wehave had one child that has graduated from Spring Valley Academy, and one who will graduate this year. Our first son started at Spring Valley his senior year, and his only regret was that he wasn’t there sooner. He loved it! Had so many great opportunities for learning local and abroad. Made many great Christian friends and was able to take college level classes, which gave him a head start in his engineering degree. He enjoyed the sports and music programs Spring Valley offered. Our second son has been at Spring Valley Academy for what will be five years. He has taken vantage of all the amazing opportunities that Spring Valley has to offer, especially the band and choir trips that go throughout the nation performing. Parent: Legacy has been the greatest blessing to our family! My greatest prayer when my kids started at Legacy was that my kids would be well cared for. My prayer has been answered abundantly! We have kids that are in Jr. High and their only complaint is that they didn't start at the school when they were in 1st grade! My son had a hard time adjusting to school after coming from homeschool. The teachers were AMAZING! They worked with him, encouraged him, and pushed him to do more than he thought he could. He is doing SO well now! It has been life transforming! One day at drop off, I saw my son's math teacher in the hall. She came up and gave me the biggest hug (this was before covid😊) and told me she was praying for me. I appreciate that the administrators, staff, and teachers don't claim to be perfect, but challenge us all to work together, to prefer others to talk through things instead of walking away in anger. Parent: Our son started at Dayton Christian 4 years ago and we're thrilled with our experience in pre-K-2nd grade, especially during COVID. The school administration saw the urgency to return children to the classroom and normalcy as soon as possible. Our son is far beyond where his peers in public school are education-wise. The teachers' love for our children is apparent as well. In return, the school began a mission to create competitive compensation for the teachers that will help with retention and pay them their true worth. The addition of the gym and a renovation to create a new student life space for performance art, chapel, etc., shows the desire for long-term school improvements. The school shows responsibility in their approach for large capital projects by ensuring they have funding up front with multiple quotes for projects thus being good stewards of our money. Parent: Dominion Academy of Dayton is a small private Christian school. I love that our school is like a family. Class size is usually between 5 to 10 students. Teachers are subject matter experts, and they love their students! Students who graduate Dominion consistently perform at the highest level in college. There are several buddy programs at work, with older students helping and mentoring younger students. Parent: Shaw has some incredible teachers like Darcy Turner, who work with so much enthusiasm and joy with your kids. The academics have integrated tech, and there is project based learning in some grades. It's a very diverse school as well thanks to being next to the air force base. My kid is only in third grade so I don't know much about clubs etc. I do wish there was more emphasis on STEAM and less on state testing. not a fan of their lunch offerings - kids can get cereal and string cheese as a lunch a few days a week and that's no kind of life to live.... Alum: It was pretty good! For the most part, my teachers were open and kind, and the students were some of the most polite for all the schools and states I've lived in. A little more involvement in the students lives (reaching out to troubled kids) and more oversight on teachers (there were more than one times where it was obvious a teacher didn't enjoy their job or were unable/unwilling to do it properly with little repercussion). Senior: My experience at Dayton Early College Academy has been my best experience at any school! This is saying a lot considering it has been the 9th school I have attended in my 11 years of schooling. It is evident that the teachers deeply care about their students and do their best to form genuine relationships. Senior: I'm going to be a senior in the fall and I've been going here since I was in Pre-K. This school is a great place to grow. The teachers and student leaders helped me to become my best self. Though it has its downfalls, I'm glad this is the school I when to. It's diverse, accepting, and has generally kind students and teachers. Senior: Christian Fellowship School is a small private school in Marshall County, Kentucky full of God-loving students and staff. The school holds around 300 students from pre-K to 12th grade. It consists of praise and worship to God and close, lifelong friends. The staff is very encouraging, friendly, and easy to create a special bond with. The chapel is held every Tuesday which includes a full service for everyone to just worship and sing to God. The school holds so many fun events every year such as the Fall Festival with games and prizes, Eagle Fest with competitive water games in teams, a competitive Fall party scavenger hunt with a prize for the winner, and of course, random class field trips to Mcdonalds every once in a while. I am an athlete in three sports with all of my friends because of how small the school is. The bond I have with my friends is created by all of us doing sports together.
