Parent: We were considering a few other Atlanta area private schools few years ago and upon research and talking to experienced parents/faculty, we had chosen Westminster over others at the time. This is our 6th year at Westminster and we have been very pleased with our decision! The school thoroughly plans the curriculum for each grade level and continues to provide a challenging yet very supportive and caring environment for students. My child has really thrived at Westminster under its rigorous program, their teaching philosophy, unlimited resources, wide choices of extra-curricular activities and their athletic program! It's truly school that pushes a student to do their very best in not just academics and sports but also in the community to make a difference and be a well-rounded individual! Parent: My girls have been in FSA for 4 years and just started their high school journey. This is an amazing school with great academics, engaging faculty and administrative team, and wonderful hardworking students. It’s also a super safe environment where all culture and diverse background are celebrated and cohabiting harmoniously. Academic competition does exist but in a friendly and positive manner. My girls constantly review and study with their friends prior to tests and exams. Students also share notes, learning tips, and even offer to help their classmates on subjects they have advanced knowledge of. The school is also working really hard on sports teams and trying to expand the art program. Student clubs and leadership opportunities are abundant and academic competition is a must for everyone. Parent: Our children graduated in 2016 & 2018 & AIS keeps on giving! They have a great network of friends and connections all around the world. It's true that the IB curriculum is challenging but (& this is unusual) the entire school follow it, not just an elite few, so the level of IB expertise, resource and support is unparalleled. There are myths about the language programs, you really don't need to be a linguist! Ours had no 2nd language when they joined, one finished with a bilingual IB Diploma, another took standard level for DP. AIS prepared our kids well for universities in the US and abroad & the school gave us all a really interesting, supportive community. Parent: We currently have three children at Pace Academy and they are each having an excellent yet unique experience. The school takes academics seriously, and also throws massive athletic and other opportunities their way (clubs, stage shows, community projects, travel etc). They have all discovered new things they love directly though Pace. Character is a priority. They are learning to take responsibility and advocate for themselves. They are learning how it feels to be stretched. We have not yet experienced college counseling, but based on how well Pace prepares kids for whatever division is coming next, I feel pretty good about stepping into that soon. Somehow they manage to make sure the kids fully embrace and love the stage they are at in the moment, while also getting them totally prepared for what is coming next. Parent: This is our family’s fifth year at Lovett, and we couldn’t be happier with the education that our children are receiving at this special school. The faculty is outstanding and dedicated, including in the fine arts. The curriculum is rigorous, forward thinking, and innovative. Starting in the lower school, Lovett students are taught to be critical thinkers who are comfortable being challenged and to think outside the box. We are constantly impressed by the school’s leadership. Parent: It has been a few weeks since our youngest graduated from Walker and I have had the time and energy to reflect on all that the school has meant to our daughter, our son, and to us as parents. We are so grateful to have had our children at a school with so many amazing role models. Teachers who are experts in their fields AND love young people- what a gift! Senior: I have been at Wesleyan School for 4 years and have felt improvement at every step. Upon entering I was evaluated and spoken to on how to best help me academically advance and they have held to the standard that I helped them set of challenging me. I have felt challenged at every step, but never underprepared. They truly try their best to cater to each individual's learning. The teachers are phenomenal and are open to assist in outside learning at many hours that are clearly communicated to the students, allowing kids to get the outside help they need. They additionally help to upkeep the honor and discipline of students and are very loving to each one. There are also a wide array of activities to partake in from sports to shows in the fine arts, and each one is made a very engaging experience for students. Parent: I’ve been an AGS parent for about 5 years, with my oldest daughter starting in 6th grade (now entering 10th) and my youngest daughter coming in one year later for 6th grade (entering 9th). This is a wonderful community for both my girls and me. Academically, they have excelled, and I think that’s because most teachers work quite hard to make concepts relatable and non-formulaic, but also because they make themselves available to students to come for targeted assistance. The school and grade classes are quite small, which I believe aids in the school’s ability to meet each girl’s needs. There is also a warm sense of community at AGS! From parent gatherings to annual school events to cheering on the girls who play sports, there’s always a way to connect with other families and support the school and students. Parent: Academically, we love the approach to learning and assessment. Teachers give detailed feedback and assess with a rubric. Students know what’s expected in advance. Our oldest (who can be an overachiever) keeps working to achieve the "advanced" description. Our youngest (who can be comfortable doing the minimum) can see how to keep working and stretch. From a community standpoint, we love that MV values diversity of thought, backgrounds, and experiences. Our children are learning to find connections and celebrate differences. Lastly, we love the school norms: start with questions, assume the best, share the well, fail up, and have FUN! In February we were away for a long weekend with another family who attends a school out of town. Their children’s holiday was one day longer than ours and we had to leave early. Parent: Our family moved to the Atlanta area in February of 2021. We have 8 children and had been homeschooling for a variety of reasons before the move. Finding a school with a vibrant Catholic culture as well as a challenging academic atmosphere was critical to us as we considered the next step for our family . We were also hoping for a school that would prioritize the classical approach to education. We researched, visited schools, and finally landed at Holy Spirit Prep. We have been thanking God ever since! We have four children at the school now. They entered the system as 9th, 6th, and 2nd graders as well as a pre-k 4! Parent: Our children started GAC in 6th and 9th. After a year and a half I’m very impressed with the leadership, teachers, academics, and co-curriculars. Our children are very different; one is academic & artsy and one loves sports more than school. We chose GAC because it would be a great fit for both. As we go into the second semester of year 2, both kids are thriving! They have found great community and tried new things. My athletic child has discovered a passion in film editing and my theatre kid played 2 sports! We are thrilled to see them grow academically, spiritually, and socially. Our 6th grader was behind in math when she arrived due to covid /public school and because of great teachers, encouraging administrators she is now in honors math with an A. Parent: Overall, MIS has been a phenomenal school for our child.
