Freshman: I love Wheeler so much! I went to elementary and middle school there and just started high school. Throughout my whole experience, I have loved how the school handled difficult topics such as racism and they have done an exceptional job handling COVID. They are great at helping you meet new people and after spending 5 years at the school, I have made so many friends and developed many inter-grade and teacher relationships is that I think will last even after high school. I strongly recommend Wheeler for any budding activists and for anyone who is looking to expand their horizons. Come and visit during Unity and Diversity week in February! Parent: As a graduate of SG decades ago, and a parent of 2 students (one who graduated already), I have been pleasantly surprised at the positive change at the school. There is a much greater degree of diversity among the student body. The stunning campus speaks for itself. I greatly appreciate the responsiveness of faculty and administration. My children are challenged and the graduate, who attends an academically rigorous college, says he felt very well prepared. The current student loves the school. The one area of weakness seems to be the food so that has not changed since i went there. The school has amazing offerings for extracurriculars. My children participate in a sport which does very well among its competitors. The athletic facilities are phenomenal. Overall, we are very pleased and feel fortunate to have our children attend SG! Junior: I have really loved my time at Lincoln. The teachers are really passionate about the subjects they teach which makes learning more fun. There is also a lot of support for the students if they need it and you can always meet with your teacher if you are struggling. Furthermore, the facilities are amazing and every day as a student you get a delicious free lunch. The whole community is very welcoming. Parent: Rocky Hill does an amazing job of understanding each student as an individual and tailoring programming and support based on their strengths and needs. The school's size allows for many leadership opportunities and experiences that you simply can't find at a big, less personal school. Parent: Our son is a Junior at St. Andrews and has thrived there academically and socially after a great foundation at his n-8 school. He needed more academic support in his first year but they suggested after good support and focused study habits that he could come out of that (lowering our overall tuition commitment). Additionally socially they encourage him to start an e-sports team on campus (which pushed him out of his comfort zone to communicate that) and this year they will be a full fledged team! Alum: Barrington High School provides students with a strong education that thoroughly prepares them for the tasks they will endure in college. The teachers are all kind and care about each of their students, doing everything in their power to help us students succeed. While I was not a fan of high school, I always found comfort in knowing that my teachers and counselors were always there for me. Senior: My experience at Classical Highschool started off as not so well due to the pandemic. During so, it was quite obvious that everything was shortly planned for everyone’s safety. Education was online, sports had to be canceled, and even were teachers struggling with technology. After a year, the school slowly began to shift back to a regular Highschool routine. This truly brought upon a real highschool life experience. With the in-person learning and communication, this school has changed me to become more outgoing and confident in my abilities for my future. Unfortunately, since this is my last year here, I would not be present at the school to witness the building’s renovation but after all, I hope that future students would have a great fuller experience at Classical Highschool and leave the school with a golden memory of their youth.... Senior: In high school I had a strange experience. Freshman year I had a great time, I made friends that I will be best friends with for the rest of my life, I played soccer and ran track, I did good in school, and I felt like the environment at my school was very good. Once Covid happened I felt like I lost this happy feeling. School was not the same. Yes, I still had my friends, played soccer, and did good in school, but the environment was completely different and that was due to Covid. Things got better Junior year when I felt as the environment was coming back and I had played a major role in that given my grade. Senior year it is very good. The environment is back and I feel the same family feel I had freshman year. Junior: I absolutely adore Bay View! BVA is a school that I consider my home away from home. I have met the most amazing teachers and people here. I have made connections that I never imagined I would make. The teachers at this school are so willing to help their students and they genuinely care about their students well-beings. This phrase is said a lot, but Bay View is truly like a sisterhood. It's more than a community; it's a family. I have gotten so many great opportunities here that I would've never gotten elsewhere. The school may be small, but there are so many activities and so much opportunities here that other big schools offer. I play sports, I participate in many clubs and even have leadership positions in some clubs, I do theater, I am an Ambassador, and most of all, I am Bay View. I am accepted and embraced here. Senior: Overall, a good school. I moved to EGHS from the Warwick Public School System and, if you live in RI, you know just how huge of an improvement EG is over Warwick. The academics at EGHS are nothing to sneeze at. They have no shortage of AP and Honors level classes, and I could take almost every AP course I wanted to. However, while EGHS excels at academics, it's severely lacking in most other categories. For example, and most notably, the facilities. The facilities and the physical school building are literally falling apart. During any prolonged rain, the ceiling leaks water into the hallways and, instead of fixing the problem, the school opts to put trashcans under the leaks to collect the water. The school also recently splurged a new security system (Even though security has never been an issue during my last 4 years attending the school) instead of putting the money used for this project to where it's actually needed: The school building itself and the facilities.... Parent: Both of my sons attended and the academic experience was overall wonderful. As with most schools the pandemic impacted the quality of the education received. The response and the policies implemented were good but not exceptional. The individual educators made the difference that stands out as my boys have fond memories and discussions at the kitchen table of what they learned and how they apply it now in college. Athletics is very strong but there are certain aspects of selecting the kids which were not great. In certain sports your affiliation with certain travel programs dictated whether you were being evaluated equitably. Both of my boys played varsity sports and their overall experience was good. The campus is excellent and being within the city and being able to go off campus for lunch or after school contributed to an overall sense of being part of the community.
