Junior: Throughout my years as a student I have been to private, public, magnet, and online schools, but none of those experiences compare to the DA online campus. When I first joined Davidson I was worried. I had been to two other schools just the year before (one magnet and one public) and neither had worked. Not to mention my online school experience was very small as I had only taken a few asynchronous online classes before. But at Davidson, the live sessions were stimulating and engaging, the teachers were invested in my learning, the work was actually interesting, and my peers were amazing!...I’ve made strong friendships and connections throughout my two years. The administration are always looking out for the best interests of their students and seek constant communication with faculty and students. The academics at this school have received a 5-star ranking in this review because there is an emphasis on every department for well-rounded success for every student who walks through the school doors. Clubs such as American Red Cross, Key Club, NHS, Glee, and Speech and Debate are huge community partners and seek to better the schooling environment through an emphasis on diversity. Senior: I've attended West Career and Technical Academy since my freshman year and I'm now a senior. I love WCTA! It's a beautiful campus with plenty of opportunities. WCTA has prepared me for college since the beginning! There different are programs to choose from. Personally, I'm in the environmental science program. My program teacher is amazing and I've learned so much about science. As a whole, WCTA focuses on project-based learning. Environmental science students are able to work in labs and the greenhouse. People on campus are friendly; there are brilliant and creative people on campus you can connect with. The teachers genuinely care about their students. Although we don't have sports at this school, there are still a variety of clubs to choose from! Senior: I really enjoyed my time at Las Vegas Academy of the Arts! If I could give half-star ratings, I would give it a 4.5, because though the school is great there are still some drawbacks. The environment is very positive and diversity, but the students can be kind of cliquey between majors. The teachers truly care, and they are always available to help students out. The campus is nice in some places, like the newly renovated Performing Arts Center, but other buildings are very old, and it takes forever for things to get fixed. In the Main Building, the upstairs girls bathroom had a broken sink for over 3 months, and the AC and heating systems in the Vocational Hall break annually. Sophomore: Overall, I have found Reno High to be a fantastic experience! The open campus is quite nice, and there are many activities available to students. It seems to me that there is something for everyone! There are clubs of all different natures, as well as sports and other activities relating to the arts and technology. My academic experience has also been great. The staff truly cares for their students and apart from 1 unhelpful teacher, all of my teachers have helped me to effectively understand the subject matter that I am learning. Most of the student body is friendly, though there are some rude kids (but all schools have them). Personally, I haven't had any problems with my peers and I feel relatively safe at school.
