Junior: Deciding to apply for a scholarship and go to a boarding school in the US may be the best decision I have ever made in my life. This school only made my fantastic experience even better. Great faculty, staff, peers, location, equipment, buildings, sports, academics basically anything you could wish for a school to have, this school nailed it. Senior: My experience has been very good at Ottawa Hills High School. While not being the strongest academic student at the school there are so many opportunities for help. There are tutors available at all times of the school day and after school as well. Also the teachers are very helpful. I am also feeling very prepared and ready to go to college as well. The school itself along with the classes are very challenging to help prepare you for what is to come after high school. As a student who is also duel enrolled at a college and high school, I am so pleased to say that the college classes that I am taking are easier than my high school classes. The safety of our school is also very good. There is usually always a police in our school throughout the day, or parked outside the school around the hours of pick up and drop off. Junior: Best parts of my experience at Saint John's Jesuit would be the quality education. The school offers a rigorous academic curriculum, providing a strong foundation for future endeavors. The school offers a strong academic curriculum, there may be limited options in certain subject areas. Senior: Toledo Early College High school was the best choice I could have made for my path to college. The staff and teachers at Toledo Early College were all extremely friendly and helpful, especially in my times of hardship. They all want to see their students exceed by assisting them in the best way possible, even in more personal situations such as mental health. I was one of these students, and I believed that I wouldn’t even make it to graduation due to my low self-esteem. However, it was because of their hard work and great support, that I proudly graduated with nearly 55 college credits, and straight A’s for my final semester as a high school senior! I now have all the core classes I need out of the way and can continue into college at a sophomore level! Apart from this, Toledo Early College offers first hand experience in what college life will look like as many of the classes are taken right on campus! Senior: Notre Dame Academy is a great college preporatory school that needs to focus more on their music program and the diversity of their students. I have been here since 7th grade, and now being in 12th grade I have seen a lot of growth in myself and my peers. But not my school. NDA needs to strive to create a more accepting and loving environment for students of all backgrounds. Resources for stress or mental health issues should be encouraged instead of shunned and ignored. Their music program is subpar, but has grown since we have gotten a new instructor. Senior: I am going into my third year at St. Ursula Academy, and I could not be more exited! Having come from a big school, where it is ever so easy to get lost in the crowd, St. Ursula's unique approach to teaching their endeavor to connect with those enrolled was unprecedented to say the least. When I came here, I felt more like a person with inherent value and less like a number. It is so apparent that the teachers and others employed at St. Ursula care, they take pleasure in our success. They invest in our growth as learners and as individuals every step of the way. I truly felt like there were people I could rely on, even through my darkest times. Though I have toiled and inevitably failed, I have learned to savor the defeats and have reconstructed them to be stepping stones towards the future I want and who I ultimately want to be. Senior: I have attended TTAoE since I was in the 7th grade back in 2018, and I am now a Senior. I've seen the in's and out's of it, and I can say, for certainty, it's the best in Toledo, maybe even Ohio. It's extremely manufacturing, industrial, and engineering-based, giving you industry-standard certifications from places like OSHA, FANUC, and Autodesk Inventor. With small class sizes, a very close community, and plenty of industry connections. Throughout the years, you learn how to work in teams, communicate, manual machines, CNC machines, pneumatics, robotics, DC electronics, and 3D CAD modeling. Niche User: From the moment my son started at Highland, the school was warm and inviting. He has grown leaps and bounds each year and I attribute that to his highly invested teachers and the help of the parental community.
