Sophomore: I have attended trinity school for 11 years and plan on graduating from there. It is really easy to make connections with the teachers and they are invested in creating a learning environment that we can thrive in. They offer a lot of opportunities in athletics and academics in order to find what you are interested in. Any time I have had a problem with an assignment, friend, teacher, or even something personal that doesn't involve school, the teachers and administration have always been a great help and are always willing to listen to you and if needed find a solution to make sure that you are in a safe and comfortable environment. The teachers really do care so much about the students and they will always be your number one cheerleader to cheer you on every step of the way of your academic and athletic career. Freshman: Overall, my experience was mostly positive. The classes were standard; the schedules were reasonable, and most of the teachers were wonderful. However, I did experience a few professors who did not stay on schedule, had to be reminded to grade and open assignments, and were not available when they said they would be. I would have loved for my last few semesters there to have been fulfilling, but those who taught me dimmed my experience. Junior: At New Tech Odessa, I have been blessed with many opportunities that mostly stem from its smaller size. I am able to get one on one instruction from my teachers and know the majority of my peers names. This has also led me to being able to easily navigate my school without worrying about large crowded halls and stairs. However, one thing I would like to see changed or altered in some way would be the teaching curriculum that the AP classes switched to this year. Last year, the AP scores were lower than expected in some classes and now this years juniors, including myself, are being punished for our upperclassmen's scores. We have been loaded up with assignments which I understand are to better our scores but can have been seen as overwhelming with the sheer amount of assignments on top of our lives outside of school. Overall, I'm grateful for my school and academic opportunities but would like to see a more reasonable workload in my next semester.... Read 55 reviews

Sophomore: Grady is an amazing school all the way around. From the staff to the students, it is a great place to learn. I've gone to school at Grady since I was in Kindergarten, and it has been a great experience. My favorite part about Grady is the small class size. It helps make the learning experience super easy. Senior: Andrews High School is a great place to be. I had the opportunity to be here for the last four years and I have really enjoyed it. It is definitely a time in my life that I will never forget. I have been a part of many programs over the years including choir, athletic training, culinary arts, and art classes. All of these groups gave me a chance to grow as a person in ways other than just academics. I have made many amazing memories and have been given many opportunities that most students do not have access too because of the school that I go to. Of course my high school experience had its ups and downs, but that's life. Junior: I have been going to the STEM Academy since it opened in 2014. I started out as a second grader in a class of about 20 students and am now a junior in a class of about 70. Throughout the years many of the kids that I started my STEM days with are still some of my best friends and have also stayed at the STEM Academy with me. There have been many ups and downs throughout my time at the STEM academy, but I am so incredibly grateful to have been given the opportunity to learn among such great peers and teachers. Our school is centered around Project Based Learning. This means that we don't just sit at a desk and do paperwork, we are able to have interactive assignments including presentations, dioramas, etc. This has significantly helped me grasp some harder concepts. If I were to change anything about my school, I would change sports and fine arts. We were a charter school and we didn't have access to this. Despite the academically challenging classes, Odessa College and Odessa Collegiate Academy faculty will help you in any way they can. All you have to do is ask and be honest. With smaller class sizes, students have more chances to talk to their teachers/professors one-on-one, allowing students and faculty members to form valuable relationships which are essential for recommendation letters. Odessa Collegiate Academy is also an AVID demonstration site, which means that students are required to learn about financial aid, the college application process, and the necessary skills for university-level courses.
