Freshman: Whenever I drive by St. Mary's, I smile and say, "That's my school!" I began attending SMS in fifth grade, and I immediately felt welcomed and at home. Now that I'm a freshman in high school, I can sincerely say I'm grateful for all that this school has provided me. Yes, it is a competitive environment because the academics are top-notch, but it is also a place where I feel valued for my individual strengths and supported by my peers. Sophomore: I have been at Hutchison since 4th grade. I love this school! Every year I am amazed by how much my teachers care about my success. I have to work hard in the classroom, but my teachers are always willing to spend extra time with me. I love the MYExperience program and learning about different career paths. I have enjoyed the many professional women I have had as speakers and mentors, and the service projects that I have worked on. I know that I will head to college in a couple of years totally prepared. But I think the difference at Hutchison is that school is fun. We work hard, but we root for each other to succeed and we help each other. I am not into sports at all, but many of my friends are. I love watching their games! I also love watching my friends in the theater. I am black, and while I didn't really think about it when I came in 4th grade, I worried a little that I might not fit in. Parent: The building is wonderful. I am proud to send my kids here. The teachers are beyond friendly and well appreciated. There is not any cliques or judgement. Everyone just helps each other when needed. I would go to any family for help and I hope they would do the same with me. My kids always talk about how good their lunch is. Middle School Student: I have been a student in Arlington Schools for 9 years and with my experience AMS and really all Arlington schools provides great education for all students regardless of learning differences. As a gifted student I have had many great experiences and I have friend who do not have learning differences and they agree that the teachers give us a great education. The teachers really care about you and know how to handle a classroom responsibly and respectfully. You can choose from 5 day band, 5day orchestra, 5 day chorus, 3 day PE 2 day art or 3 day art 2 day PE. There are also many after school activities. Parent: We love the small class sizes and the teachers’ hands-on teaching styles at St. Agnes. The teachers work hard to find activities to engage your child in a way that will help them grow. Not only will your child’s teacher know how they learn best, but they’ll also know them as a whole person- their personality, their friends, you as parents, etc. It feels like family. We love the Christian environment and Biblical teachings. We love the single gender lower school classrooms so that our girls learn to be confident leaders, but we also like how they still interact with their male counterparts through mass, field trips, book clubs, etc. We also appreciate all the social skills they learn in some co-ed classes in junior high, as well as the Early Childhood Center. We are thankful for the administration’s long-term focus on our children’s education and spiritual growth, but they can also be found spontaneously jumping in a bounce house with the kids or reading to classes. Freshman: I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at White Station. It’s really a friendly environment once you settle in. There is an issue with fighting depending on who you associate with but no one I know personally has been in a fight nor have I. There’s many Ap classes offered including African American studies which is only offered at around 60 schools. There’s also a bunchhh of extracurriculars and clubs and you can actually apply to start one yourself which is pretty cool. Two of my friends started at economics and finance club and the process wasn’t to hard. They offer dual enrollment which is amazing. Again with the extracurriculars you can do pretty much any sport they even have laccrosse and rugby. All of the sports teams are pretty good….other than the football team…..overall great experience! Senior: I love Lewisburg High School! The school offers a great selection of courses that cater to my interests. In fact, DeSoto County Schools have a program called Career Tech that I was and am involved in. It allows me to explore Health Science as I hope to go into dentistry. The best part about Lewisburg is the feeling of community that is created between the staff and students. The counselors and teachers are very helpful in preparing me for college. The custodians were always friendly and made my days. My school’s resource officer always cracked jokes and made sure everyone was safe. The lunch ladies always had amazing food for the students and were the sweetest group of people. I did not have an experience that hindered how I feel about Lewisburg. I appreciate the support of their teachers as both children have different needs and abilities. The administration is incredible at supporting the development of the "whole child". The biggest resource that a student gains by attending Briarcrest Christian High School is the faculty. The teachers and administration at this school have roots that run deep throughout the building, curriculum, and student relationships. Sophomore: Collierville High School is a great school. It has an enormous campus and a huge variety of classes that students can choose from. Some teachers are not great at teaching, but most are great! There are many ways students can engage in their hobbies because of the amount of different clubs, sports, and fine arts opportunities! It would be much better if AP students in the first semester did not have to wait until the end of the second semester to take their exams, because it is a bit unfair to them since AP students in the second semester are able to take the exam right after they take the AP class....
