Dobyns-Bennett High School1 Best Public High Schools in Kingsport Area
Senior: In my opinion, this is the best school in Tennessee. The teachers are great and the academics are amazing. They have zero tolerance for bullying and cyber-bullying to make this school safe. They have taken extra precautions to keep us safe while attending this school. I could not have made a better choice to attend this high school. Parents can stay involved with my academics, and the teachers are very helpful when we need it.
Greeneville High School2 Best Public High Schools in Kingsport Area
Alum: I enjoyed my time at Greeneville High School because the student body as a whole was very uplifting and supportive. The teachers and administration took an honest interest in the students and really cared about the education we were receiving. The curriculum was very strict and challenged us, especially with problem solving abilities and that made getting my diploma even more special because I knew how hard I had worked for it.
Sacred Heart School
- Private School
- Kingston, MA
- PK, K-12
Parent: Our Son began his high school career at Sacred Heart. We are not a Catholic family and he had only been in public school prior to entering the 9th grade. We were not sure what to expect. Sacred Heart High School has not only met our expectations, it has exceeded them! The teachers are tough, yet caring. There is quite a bit of individual instruction. They take time to meet with students regularly outside of the classroom. The administration is efficient and quite capable. The small class size has given our son a real sense of community. All of the varsity sports are available to him and his high school experience (as we are entering into his final few semesters before graduation) has been challenging, rewarding and full of wonderful memories. We cannot say enough about this fabulous school.

Science Hill High School3 Best Public High Schools in Kingsport Area
Senior: Science Hill is a great school for everyone because there are many clubs, activities, and people to interact with. The food and schedule isn't the best , but Science Hill excels in academics and their staff is amazing. All teachers are there to teach, as well as, be our friends and family, that is why Hilltoppers are the best! Each grade has their assigned counselors where they prepare us for everything in the future from college admissions to dropping a class, Science Hill has the best preparedness plan and provides a safe place to learn and succeed. The social diversity among students is high and growing as more people attend Science Hill.
University School4 Best Public High Schools in Kingsport Area
Alum: I absolutely adored attending University School! I attended from 6th-12th grade and appreciated how much I got out of my education. I felt prepared to attend college, especially since I was allowed to take classes at ETSU for free! I highly recommend attending this school.
Tusculum View Elementary School5 Best Public Elementary Schools in Kingsport Area
Parent: Academically, it is a wonderful school. They focus more on mental than physical ability, however, and sports offerings are limited. Bullying, as with most schools, unfortunately, has been an issue.. but I am not happy so far with how it is being handled.
Robinson Middle School3 Best Public Middle Schools in Kingsport Area
Alum: I liked the extracurricular activities. They were assigned in random order every time. Chorus, band, and orchestra are year long extra curricular activities. The levels of classes available for language and math were also nice to have, although the language did not have too much of a difference. The social studies class varies in topic for each grade level. Occasionally, there was a "homeroom" class meeting.
- Private School
- Chattanooga, TN
Senior: The McCallie School is an all boys school, that is a day and boarding school. My experience at this school has been fantastic, and it has shaped me into a man just like the motto states "Inspiring Boys. Building Men." Coming to the ridge and moving away from home was at first terrifying, but the faculty and students brought me in with open arms. From the friday night football games, to grinding out test I have made more memories than anyone else in a lifetime, and McCallie has propelled me for the challenges ahead in college. No matter how cliché it may sound I wouldn't change my 4 years at McCallie for anything in the world, it is a life changing experience. If I were a parent with a boy soon entering middle school or high school, I would most definitely look into McCallie and at least give the admissions office a phone call. It is the best decision a person could ever make!

The Sage School
- Private School
- Foxborough, MA
- PK, K-8
Parent: The small size allows every child to feel valued. Advanced children are given the ability to work at their own pace and not forced to confirm to what the group is ready to learn. Open ended projects allow creative kids to stay engaged and enthusiastic about learning. The children are more individual in nature so there is no pressure to conform in general and very little to no teasing/bullying. Sadly, the visual arts program is sorely lacking. Math, Science and Humanities (History/English) are all great. Behavior management is also an issue but the latest administration has cleaned that up a lot and I feel it is an issue that is becoming a thing of the past.
