Senior: My transition from a Christian to a Catholic based high school known as Cathedral High School. This has been one of the most rewarding and hardest things that I have experienced. The reason for my transition was because Cathedral offered a more rigorous curriculum related to the medical field. The Cathedral culture is that of a brotherhood. The environment at Cathedral High School allowed me to gain self-discipline, assume leadership roles, and set goals for my future. The school sets high standards for me while providing a structured environment that promotes learning. The hardest challenge I have faced at Cathedral, is adjusting and learning a different religion. I am a Christian and Cathedral is a Catholic based school. I had to adapt, learn, and respect the differences between the two religions. Senior: The best thing I would say about Transmountain Early College High School is that teachers are ready to work with you especially if you need help on assignments or homework with the tutoring hours they offer. I would specifically say the math teachers, which is a good thing since a lot of people struggle in math. One thing I would change about this school is the safety. Anyone who is not a member of the school can just walk in, and that is not safe. The reason why is because we are not all in one building. Each portable is a different classroom outside, and collectively we form the school. However, I do love that since the class sizes are small, we form a sort of family because we are sharing the same rigorous work and environment. I know that personally I have made a lot more friends attending this school and it is truly awesome! I would hope that I stay friends with at least one or two of them since after this point, we'll go in our separate directions. I would say to attend here.... Read 271 reviews

Senior: Lydia Patterson Institute has made a positive impact in my life. I have been in this school for six years, and a lot has happened throughout those years. I came here as an eleven-year-old boy in the seventh grade. It was hard for me to understand what was going on since I didn't know English. I had to come to summer school in order to get to the eighth grade, but it was not easy though... It took me thirty days to fully understand the language in a good way. Eighth grade started it was much easier because I could understand everything by then. High school was much easier, but it's been tough for me since the people I deal with everyday just make it a bad experience. As a senior, soon to graduate, I can say that LPI changed my life. Every teacher has taught me something that I'm going to use in my life. I'm so grateful for everything that I learned and lived in this school. Senior: Northwest Early College High School is unique, unlike many others due to its small size and campus. It is composed of about 350 students in total. As a result of my school's size, everyone knows one another and can form family-like connections with not only each other but with the teachers and staff. Being able to form these connections was always something that I really enjoyed because I have had the opportunity to make lifelong connections. One of the worst parts of my experience at NWECHS was the type of physical campus we had. The school is composed of around 28 portables and one small multipurpose building which was the cafeteria. There were no hallways so I constantly endured the heat, cold, rain, wind and etc while trying to get from class to class. Parent: The environment at Jesus Chapel School is wonderful. Their campus is beautiful, and they are academically rigorous, but it does pay off. What we love the most about Jesus Chapel is the small class sizes. This is for several reasons. Students are not just students, they are children with a name and personality. They get a lot of one-on-one time with teachers who nurture them and truly love what they do. Most importantly, what the small classrooms offer, is the opportunity for us parents to know one another. We rely on one another to provide our children with a loving Christian home. We also depend on one another to raise upstanding people to make a difference in our community. Alum: I transferred into Franklin my Junior year of high school and it was the best decision I ever made! Although for the first semester I didn’t have any friends, once I made them - they become my family; people I will cherish forever! The teachers and the education I received was phenomenal! Senior: I found that this school has done a great job of equipping myself and past alumni for success in college, often teaching harder than most high schools, especially in the state of New Mexico. I feel that my education has been elevated higher than most, as well as my want to learn increasing throughout my years here. They do not simply teach just to have the students pass, all the teachers wish the best for each and every student and are always willing to offer help when it is needed. The only negative part about this school is the lack of clubs and activities, whether they all be denied by the administration or other, activities are quite lacking and are limited to sports and our one club, Spanish Club. I would like to see more student involvement as well as school spirit, which is also a place where they lack. Senior: Eastwood High School is like no other. I had come to the school for my sophomore year, and I was nervous for a fresh start because I didn't know anyone. But, the school is so incredibly full of spirit and pride. The students and staff are so eager to introduce newcomers, and they helped me a ton! I have made so many friends and countless memories. The classes are challenging sometimes, but that's what makes it worth it. Eastwood pushes its students to be the best version of themselves they can be. I have learned how valuable it is to challenge myself and step out of my comfort zone to grow better as a student and a person. Senior: While my start was rough, thanks to the administration I was able to find proper ways to adjust. The environment at YWLA is high stress and students must learn to navigate their stress and responsibilities while staying on top of their class work. My experience with the teachers is largely positive with the exception of a few. I wouldn't say that the school is for everyone, as many students don't stay for or finish high school at YWLA. I have to say one of the positives is the extracurricular and the different leadership days, these are implemented to help us work on our leadership and cooperation skills while enriching our overall school environment. Another plus is how close peers become as the years go on, I'm still acquainted with almost every student in my graduating class. If you are eager to become highly involved on-campus there is certainly opportunity to do so with a plethora of extracurricular opportunities, however, there can be cliques and preferential treatment towards athletes on campus. Senior: I had a good high school experience at Coronado. I was excited to go to school everyday, which lets me know that Coronado is a good school. The highlight of my high school career was meeting some of the most amazing teachers. I have had a few teachers at Coronado that I know I will remember for the rest of my life. These teachers always provided me with support and pushed me to achieve academic excellence. The worst part was probably the construction. My school has been under construction for four years now. It was just quite distracting. You could always hear the sounds of drilling, tractors, and accidental fire alarms. The construction should be finished by next year, but it was always an inconvenience during my time at Coronado. I am grateful for the quality high school education I received.
