Parent: Marshall School has incredibly dedicated and supportive teachers! Their encouragement enabled my kids to learn and understand the required curriculum while still exploring and developing their own diverse interests. Teachers emphasize strong academic habits, while still recognizing that each child learns differently along the way. Marshall allows teachers to have flexibility: there were many times where students could choose their assignment based on what fits their particular learning style. The college counseling program is top-notch and starts early! The International program at Marshall is very strong, with students from as many as ten different countries living in the on-campus dorm. Having them around is beneficial to all and expands perspectives! Marshall School has the most beautiful campus located within the vibrant city of Duluth. Alum: I had a good and bad experience here. The school is very clique, which for me stinked, because if you weren’t in a certain group, people would judge you. You either get a very good teacher, or not good teacher. Meaning, it was a really easy class, or a very hard class. Otherwise the school is good. It can have good assemblies, spirit weeks, and events happening throughout the school year. Which was always fun participating in. It is really fun to go to sport games, and hang out with friends there. I was on three different sport teams, and it became a community, and I loved it. Junior: Overall, I would say that this school is a good option for the area. Despite being a smaller community than what surrounds it, (Duluth, Hermantown, Proctor, etc.), this school offers many opportunities such as a plethora of sports, clubs, and advanced and college level courses. Most of the teachers are involved and are interested in helping their students to learn and succeed. Although there are upsides to this school, there is also one issue that presents itself. Vaping is an issue that is actively being tackled although it’s very unfortunate because the problem inconveniences other students and has the potential to create and unhealthy environment. Middle School Student: As an 8th grade student at this school I've found that teachers and staff are quite supportive and genuinely want you to succeed in high school. That said, many of the students cause some problems. Exploding milk cartons, messy lunchroom, and although not common, a few fights. Senior: Superior Senior High School is a great school for superior students, this school has many resources for many different areas. We have a strong support system by our teachers and administrators, we also have strong support systems through the community. Our school is heavily involved with our community, if it’s sports related our town comes to support our athletes and coaches which brings our community closers. We also have wonderful support system to get ready for college, our teachers, counselor, and administrators are here to help us with scholarships, applications, college discussions, and more.
