Freshman: My freshman year at McCallie was great. I'm a science-oriented student and McCallie had so many opportunities for me to explore my interest. This year I joined the science bowl, biology research, HOSA, and Future Medical Professionals clubs. I was able to conduct research at McCallie's awesome cell lab and won some prizes at a local and state science fair! The clubs I joined were all run by students with a teacher advisor and were very active. Most clubs would meet at least once a week to prepare for whatever event we had. Additionally, I joined McCallie's Natural Conservational Guild (NCG) which is a club focused on preserving the environment. It was really fun to clean up local rivers and trails as well as start our own garden next to the dining hall. Regarding classes, they were all amazing with extremely supportive teachers who are willing to work with me and they gave reasonable homework. Also, the campus is amazing. Junior: I've been a student at GPS for almost 6 years and though I've had my times of stress, I wouldn't trade my experiences here for anything. The friendships and faculty relationships I've made would be hard to recreate anywhere else because a mutual level of respect and honesty comes with these relationships. The staff at GPS genuinely care for their students, which can be seen in the constant altering of how we do things at this school. Though changes each year tend to be annoying for those who appreciate consistency, it is nice knowing that these changes were made to help us be the best we can be. With its arts, academics, and athletics, GPS never ceases to offer its students the best opportunities that target every girl's curiosity. Another positive attribute of GPS is the college counseling they offer; the support I receive from my teachers and counselors is unmatched and I can't imagine my college process anywhere else!... Senior: STEM School Chattanooga has given me an amazing high school experience. The way things are done is much different from any other school with the grading scale, the caring teachers, freedom, and project based/hands on learning curriculum. I have loved these last few years here and would recommend it to anyone who is looking to challenge themselves. Although the challenges were rough in the moment, they have bettered me and prepared me for future workplaces and college. The only negative thing I have encountered at STEM is some of the students, but you get that at any school and it really is a supportive and loving community for the most part. Senior: Some of the best parts of my school are the arts and the opportunities that come with the arts. Each student is given plenty of options for what they want their focus to be during their time at cca while also being given the opportunity to change said focus. However the Administration could use some work, the administration is strong in some areas, such as money and raising funds; however, the administration is not great at understanding and respecting Highschool students. No matter how old students are they are not treated with respect unless them or their family has something to off the administration personally. Senior: I first moved to Christian Heritage my freshmen year of high school. From a big middle school in Gwinnett County to a little private school tucked behind the woods. My graduating class will have around forty, and the total high school population is less than 200. It was a shock to my system when I walked through the double doors in my pleated skirt for the first time. However as I made my way to my first class, Old Testament Bible, I was put at ease when I saw all smiling faces in my direction. It was a difficult change because I went from being imaginary to the new girl. Although a little overwhelming at first, I adjusted to my new norm and made many friends along the way. With the highs come the lows and unfortunately for me, there were more opportunities educationally in a public school setting. For example, my school does not offer Human Anatomy and it is one of the classes I am most passionate about. It would have helped me decide if a nursing career is the best for for me.... Senior: In my time at Notre Dame High School I have experienced many different things. The main way I would describe my school to you, is that they are focused on seeing their students succeed. Junior: My experience at Hamilton Heights Christian Academy was a mixed bag. While I wasn't completely satisfied with the overall quality of education, one aspect that stood out was the teachers' dedication to spending time with each student individually. One of the key strengths of this school is the personalized attention given by the teachers. They genuinely care about their students and make an effort to understand their strengths, weaknesses, and individual learning styles. This allows for a more tailored approach to education, which can greatly benefit students who need extra support or have specific learning needs. I appreciated the fact that the teachers were available for one-on-one discussions and were willing to provide additional guidance outside of regular classroom hours. Parent: This school continues to amaze me with the quality of education they provide. The facilities are always spotless, the school is very organized, and every teacher I have met is has been extremely friendly and always smiling. Parent: Nolan Elementary has been the best experience for my son who has attended the past 5 years. The school functions like a family and parent communication is excellent. There is an emphasis on character development and inclusion of students with special needs. My so. has enjoyed advanced studies opportunities, Quiz Bowl, Perennial Math competitions, chess club, chorus, and been blessed with amazing friends and genuinely kind classmates. I celebrate the enrichment provided in Spanish, visual art, STEM, PE, technology, Library, & music. The PTA is very active- very supportive- and the local MEF foundation supports extra staff & resources to support all students so every child experiences success. The school has grown with diversity which is wonderful to see. Newcomers are welcomed quickly and teachers go the extra mile to make sure every child is cared for and feels valued.
