Alum: The location of Riverwood elementary school is convenient if you live in the neighborhood. However, as the neighborhood grows it is getting more and more difficult to get out of the neighborhood due to school traffic in the morning and afternoon. The school itself has been around for over 16 years and is still in fair condition. The teachers are very kind and do care about students. They also have a YMCA before and afterschool program which is very convienent for working parents... Read 2 reviews

Parent: My husband graduated from FMS in the 90s and both of our sons graduated from here ('16 & '20), as well. I love what this school did for each of my men! The leadership skills they each learned at Fishburne gave them what they needed to excel in every aspect of their lives. I love this place so much that I moved from my home state of North Carolina to live in this amazing community and to work for Fishburne. I can't imagine a better place to work, live, and learn!... Works Here: Daughters have attended Powhatan. I have worked at the school for over 10 years. Powhatan is a community school and the state holders are very involved in the school. PTA is a strong community. It would be nice if Teacher assistants did not have to drive buses. Taking them away from the classroom negatively impact the entire school. Administration has changed over the years. It is imperative that the administration continues to communicate with the student/parent population.... Read 2 reviews

High School Senior: The atmosphere of the school was just amazing! Kids of all ages, whether 6 or 13, were just always so happy and peppy, and school was enjoyable. Our principals always had the best announcements in the morning to give you a nice little pep in your step. Also throughout the year, our school always had different but enticing assemblies of all kinds ,some historical and informative, and others were just for student enjoyment. If i could do over my school, I totally would! It would just be another nine years of fundamental learning and recess time!... Read 7 reviews

Parent: Overall it is a very good school. There were some issues with my child that I addressed with staff in the past that I don't feel were handled appropriately. This year is going very well and there are no issues. The teachers are wonderful and very involved with student success. I don't care for common core because all students learn at a different pace.... Read 1 review

Parent: One thing I like about Corinth Holders is the staff, teachers, and the student integration. I like the fact that the teachers go out of their way to make sure you are doing well in class and at home. You grow intense relationships with them. I also love how loving and welcoming everyone is. The thing I love the most is the diversity. I love seeing unique and different things expressed throughout the school. It brings me joy that I am also offered a variety of clubs to join. Although there's room for improvement, I enjoy attending Corinth Holders High School.... Read 45 reviews

Junior: Rochambeau, French International school is an amazing place to spend your highschool years. Enriched by a multi-cultural student body, Rochambeau has the mix of rigorous academia and a fun social life. The school is primarily taught in French, following the Baccalaureate curriculum. Students are given the option of classes they wish to develop as their "specialties': these include Humanities, Philosophy and French Literature, Social Economic Science, Political Science, Physics, Biology, and Maths. Most teachers are extremely insightful and engaging, and show off an extremely impressive resume from working at international schools around the world. One disadvantage that the school has would maybe be it's limited class size (200 in whole highschool) However, this could be considered a good thing as most students are really close.Overall, the bi-lingual education that is offered with the IB system serves as extremely good preparation to college, while still being a formative experience.... Parent: I have one alum and two middle schools sons at Lowell. The younger two started in Kindergarten and the oldest in third after attending our local public elementary school. Although my sons are completely different, Lowell has managed to understand and bring out the best in each of them. My oldest, the quiet introvert at public school, was completely brought out of his shell and is now a confident 10th grader. Lowell taught him self advocacy. My younger two have been encouraged to use their over abundance of self-confidence to boost other children up. Thanks to Lowell, they are empathetic leaders. Lowell has helped me parent my boys to be their best selves -- confident yet kind, thoughtful and public-spirited. All of that PLUS a leading edge curriculum that allows them to easily attend the top public and independent high schools in the city!... Read 13 reviews
