Middle School Student: Hi! My name is Jia and I’m an 8th grader at Pleasant Knoll Middle School. I think my school is wonderful for the most part. We have a really great staff as well as facilities such as the computer lab and the library! However, I wish there was more diversity. As you can probably imagine, there also is very little culture and I can’t really express mine. As a South Asian, I think diversity is really important and should be valued. Additionally, our school puts most of its emphasis on sports. The academic as well as the theater, music and art programs don’t get as much funding or materials. I feel as though athletics, academics, and the arts are all equally important and should be treated that way! I do believe Pleasant Knoll Middle is an engaging environment and I am truly lucky to have an opportunity to go to a great school, but there are certainly just a few things I would change.... Senior: My freshman year started as a blast as I met all sorts of people and began exploring what interested me. I conditioned with the girl's basketball team and while I didn't continue my journey with the team, it taught me the value of having routine. I initially joined the school's Mock Trial team as well but I wanted to pursue other interests and quit. I came back my senior year and so far it's been exciting! We progressed to states and hope to make it further this year. While I do not currently partake in the school's athletics anymore, it is very competitive and well-standing. My classes challenge me and allow me to reach beyond my understanding inside the classroom. The reason the school is not 5/5 is because it is a little dirty and there is starting to be a shortage of teachers.... Read 545 reviews

Senior: Fort Mill High School is one of the nicest schools I've attended. I travel a lot for band competitions and see many different schools all over South Carolina. The staff are excellent and the teachers work hard every day to engage us, the students, in learning. My only bad experience though was with a teacher in the English Department, who illegally rewrote my 504. I was struggling in class with submitting things on time and she made it harder for me by being able to deny my extended deadlines for all my classes. Something I'd like to see change in FMHS is having a better understanding of kids with special needs and having staff have a better understanding of 504s and IEPs. Parent: We have two at St. Anne Catholic School. We have a boy & girl, one in K3 & one in K4. We absolutely love the school. Our kids are excited to wake up and go to school too! They feel loved and give us a full recap of what happened every day! They are learning so much and having a faith based education makes a huge difference! I hurt my finger the other day, and my 4 year old daughter said, “let me pray for you mommy.” The class size is small. Teachers have amazing communication! They respond sometimes within minutes via email. You will also get pictures from their activities! Both of my kids classes are extremely diverse! All different nationalities. I almost feel like they attend an international school. The school has a fundraiser where they celebrate the ethnic backgrounds of the parish, it’s an incredible moment to step back and realize your children/child is part of such an amazing landscape! Senior: The Clover School District as a whole is one of the best in the state of South Carolina, its high school ranking in the top 1% of all schools in the state. When deciding where to move from North Carolina, Clover's exceptional education is one of the main factors that drove us to move to this area. School staff has made it clear that they value students' safety overall, implementing strict guidelines to ensure students’ whereabouts, and to make sure who is coming in and out at all times, from the second the doors open. Education and extracurricular activities are strongly encouraged with tutoring days and club days. I’ll often be in the hallway and see an administrator with a bowl of candy, passing them to students who walk by. Most teachers are friendly and accommodating to students’ needs, no matter how small. Parent: As a Blue-Ribbon recipient, I have been nothing but pleased with my child's experience at Cherry Park Elementary so far. Being the only Immersion School in the county, from day one my child has been immersed in the Spanish culture. Now in the 3rd grade, they are writing, reading, and speaking the language, and the excitement she feels each day at school is contagious. Parent: All 4 of my children graduated from WGCS. One is a Duke grad, graduating with distinction. Three are at Western Carolina. All are on Dean’s List/President’s list. I also tutor students from all over Charlotte and Fort Mill/Rock Hill. Our students are right in line with their curriculum, mostly ahead of their curriculum. Since it is a small school (which we all love) there are not a lot of extras. But for a Christian education with sports (all are allowed to play on teams) and a mission trip every year for high school, this school was a huge blessing to our family!... Read 22 reviews
