Niche User: Brevard Middle school was a very welcoming school, I go to Brevard College and I am in Institution of Women's Leadership also known as IWIL. The ladies and I would go and hang out with some of the girls after school and help them with homework or play games, or even do some arts and crafts. The middle school girls would always tell us what amazing things they did every day and tell us how excited they were about upcoming events that were happening at their school or if they had a concert choir performance coming up. Alum: In my experience at Rosman Middle School, I would say that it is a close-knit school in the middle of a small town where everybody knows everybody! Junior: My Brevard High School experience has been a whirlwind! When I first started here, I was mildly concerned about it being cliqy. However, I was wrong to an extent. Being that it is in a small town, I was surprised to learn that all different types of people hang out together, the “athletic” kids and the “art” all interact! Every school will have their downfalls, though, and Brevard is not exempt from them. Parent: I have two kiddos that started school this year at Brevard Academy and they are absolutely thriving! Throughout the years my kids have tried home school, public school, and even private school. Brevard Academy has by far been our best experience. The staff are all incredible and care deeply about the kids. My daughter's school anxiety went from severe (after a bad experience at a private school) to non-existent. Junior: I love my school! I really truly do, the only downside is we lack funding and resources. The other school in our district offers way more classes than we can afford, and more opportunities than we can give. Although we are small, it is easy to learn, and a less competitive environment. Anyone can join any club or try out for any sport and genuinely have a spot waiting for them on that team. Our connection with the community is amazing. Alum: OA was the by far the best experience of my life. I just finished my semester (Semester 56) on May 13 and miss it more than I can describe. I believe that the sadness I'm feeling away from OA is so painful and deep because of the incredible joy and love I experienced there. The joy of jumping into a freezing lake with 8 of your best friends and laughing and yelling all the way back to the cabin. The joy of seeing your teachers (and best friends) again after just the two day weekend, and wanting to hear everything that they did. The love that's felt when crying with 18 other teenagers because you've just realized how much you're going to miss each other. The love that's felt after paddling a hard rapid and seeing your friends and mentors cheering for you. These experiences made me feel alive, made me grow, made me reflect, made me love the world that much more, and OA is FULL of these experiences. I 100% recommend the Outdoor Academy for everyone....
