Senior: I love RHAM because it provides a very high quality education, especially as a public school. The arts program is fantastic and there is a very wide variety of AP classes offered. I took twelve of them throughout the past three years and thus far have achieved 5s on all of them. I attribute these high scores at least in part to the effort and competence of my teachers. My AP Statistics/AP Calculus BC teacher in particular is amazing. He regularly does conferences teaching other AP math teachers tips for teaching the classes and improving their students’ scores. Outside of just academics, RHAM also has a very extensive list of available extracurricular activities. Our sports programs are fairly successful, especially volleyball (we won the state tournament this year!) and a large portion of students participate. There is also an endless number of clubs for students to join. I am an active member of Student Council, Leo Club, NHS, Math Team, FPS, and NAHS, to name a few of the options.... Read 222 reviews

Middle School Student: I am an 8th grader at capt. Nathan hale middle school, and overall my experience here has been fantastic. It is a little small so it's very nice that everyone knows each other; at least the kids that are in your own grade. Parent: Andover elementary is like no other. The administration and staff are outstanding and couldn’t ask for anything better for the students that attend the school. Everyone that is a part of the school is like a family. The support and the energy everyone gives off is genuine and contagious. Not only have my children have been taught academically but learned things along the way that will stay with them forever. Students that attend Andover elementary look forward to going to school everyday and they excel while attending Andover and beyond. Senior: The best part of my experience at EO is the opportunity to get involved in my community through clubs and events at my school, and the people at the school. One of the worst parts of my experience however has been some issues with some staff and administration not being very receptive to issues within the school (particularly not doing much in terms of conflicts between students or when students have issues). Senior: My personal experience at Tolland HIgh School has been amazing, with all of the necessary resources I could need as well as a great curriculum that stimulates learning and growth. The teachers at this school are one of my favorite parts, for they are able to take the curriculum and make it fun and effective to learn in the classroom environment, incorporating many thought-provoking activities that keep you entertained and ready to learn. In addition to the educational aspect, there are plenty of safe spaces and people in the school that allow kids to feel comfortable and have access to the resources they need to be happy and improve their high school career. There is also an endless assortment of clubs, sports, and activities both inside and out of school that allow the kids to participate in extracurricular activities and have experiences and learning opportunities they could never have inside a classroom.... Alum: Bolton High School is a really small school, with not a lot of diversity. There is no football team, and not many clubs to join. The cross country program is fantastic, but that is it for sports. There are very minimal APs, so in order to further your education you have to turn towards AP courses through Virtual High School (VHS). Parent: Great teachers and good facilities. The building is older but a building does not make a good school. The teacher my daughter had was tough but challenged her to excel in class. She recognized that my daughter needed more challenge and provided it. I couldn't ask for anything more. Senior: Very good school. She Friendly staff and administrators. Everyone in the school is absolutely amazing and always willing to help and do everything they can to help you succeed. The students are also very nice. There is a great amount of classes to take so you can choose what classes you wish to take. It’s a great atmosphere. Junior: Ellington High School has a very close-knit family and community. We have a lot of unique traditions and student culture that makes us a very special school. One of our biggest strengths is our Music Department, of which I am a very involved member. We have won awards at the Berklee Jazz Festival, Festival Disney, the National Jazz Festival, and sent individual students to All-Region, All-State, and All-National ensembles. One thing Ellington High School could work on is creating more challenging curriculum. Sometimes, the bar is set to a point where "high-flyers" don't receive the same support that they might get at other schools. While opportunities do exist, like AP classes, they can sometimes conflict with each other in scheduling, or not rise to enough of a challenge.
