Junior: I love going to Harrison. Like any other public high school, it had its perks. There are amazing teachers and from my experience, they are all really good at what they do. Each teacher does an amazing job at not only teaching but also getting along with the students. They are people the students can go to if needed. There are many students and the school spirit might not always show on a normal day, but on a game day, our student section shows up. During the football and basketball games, the band is also there. The marching band does amazing performances and the pep band does a great job of keeping the energy up during the games. Harrison is also very diverse. Walking around from class to class you'll see so many kids that come from different backgrounds. Harrison is very inclusive and does a great job of having something that every student will love about it. Middle School Student: I am a student at this school. The school's interior is quite nice. The classrooms are fairly nice. Most teachers are very kind. Some trachers are more strict than others, but this can be seen as either a plus or minus. Sometimes there is a bit of a problem with bugs getting into the school, but never anything too serious. The Core Four subjects are well taught, and there are two spots for electives. The options for electives are a rotation of FACS, art, music, and a language, choir, band, or PE. One spot that would have normally been an elective is taken up by a mandatory Theology class on Catholicism. Once per week, the whole school congregates in the largest gym for Mass. The parents of students are often very involved in their children's lives. The arts and music gets less funding and that is fairly obvious, but these sections are great nevertheless. Alum: East Tipp was one of the greatest experiences of my life. The school has so many opportunities to pursue various clubs, sports, and community events. East Tipp puts in extra time for charity events and generally raises radically high amounts during the annual food drive. During my time at East Tipp, I participated on the football team and FIRST Lego League robotics team. Niche User: Battleground is an excellent school with wonderful teachers and students. I never want to leave it! The bus rides home and to school are fantastic. The bus drivers are great with what they do. The plays/convos are very entertaining. I would love to see the playground get updated at BGI. The food is also pretty good but sometimes is not the best. Junior: Jefferson High School has really opened my eyes to how diversity can be such a beautiful thing. It has taught me so many things in preparing me for life. I have really enjoyed being in the extracurricular options that Jeff offers. I have had so many opportunities in classes and sports that I wouldn’t have been given in any other school in the area! I am also impressed by the staff and the pride for the school that they have. The one thing that I would’ve wanted to be improved was the food, but they remodeled the cafeteria this year and has been a huge improvement! Senior: I have gone to Faith Christian school since kindergarten. This school has poured so much into me and i have appreciated it so much. We pray in every class to start out the class which has been impactful. The chapels and the teachers and administration have influenced and help me in my relationship with Christ. The amount the teachers get on a personal level with you is insane and amazing cause they actually care about you, your relationship with Christ and your education. You cant find many schools with those kind of teachers. Education alone has been top notch all of the years. They successfully prepare us for college and academics are the second most important right behind Christ. They also open up s many oppertuities through he different programs they have to be a part of the greater Lafayette community and working and learning in Lafayette has been super impactful and special to me cause they gave me a chance to have relationships with owners of places in Lafayette.... Senior: I am going into my senior year at McCutcheon High School and within these last few years, I’ve had an amazing experience. They really offer so much and honestly care about the well-being of their students. They offer lots of diverse clubs and different opportunities for students who want them such as a LGBTQ+ club and a AALOT (African American Leaders of Tomorrow) club. Some of the worst parts of my experience would be some of the teachers, but every student has a teacher or two that they aren’t fond of. I wish McCutcheon would make some of their opportunities more known and allow their students voices to be heard more rather than listening to us through student council or NHS. I would love to see a change with the school spirit. Right now, our students really do a good job of representing MAV PRIDE, but throughout the years, it’s really fallen off with each class that graduates. Alum: Wea Ridge was an amazing place for middle school. The building is only around 10 years old which leaves it looking brand new. The teachers truly care about the students. Parent: This is the best elementary school in Tippecanoe County hands down. The teachers take their time to teach and are patient with the kids. I wish all the teachers were like this .
