Senior: Corning-Painted Post High School is a very athletically and academically strong school. Plenty of opportunities are provided to help keep all types of students busy, from the fitness club to the dungeons and dragons club. There is no shortage of inclusion in Corning. Academic requirements also make it so all students are active with their schoolwork. There are also plenty of higher-level courses available ranging from honor classes to AP and IB courses that can give college credit. Corning also has a program called BOCES to help students who want to go into a trade. There are great ways for any student to work towards whatever that next step in their life might be.... Senior: My experience in Wayland Cohocton has been the greatest imaginable way to grow up in school. The vast amount of opportunity is amazing because everyone can find something to do. The best part, I must say, is the amount of care that the teachers, administrators, and counselors have. They want to see their students thrive after high school and prepare them as best as possible. One downside to Wayland is the punishment policies. I don't feel that Wayland punishes improper students well. For example, many students find ways to sneak in illegal products such as vapes and other smoking devices. They also can get away with skipping school. I feel that more punishment should be developed in order to raise the children properly. I would like to see this change so students don't feel like they can get away with everything when they enter the real world. Overall, Wayland-Cohocton has been a great way to be brought up because of the amount of care that ALL of the staff have for the students.... Read 70 reviews

Senior: My overall experience in this school was quite interesting. Just like other schools, they have ups and downs to it. I learned a lot in my high school years because of them. Parent: Amazing school to send your child to. It is large but feels like a family. These kids have 5-6 lunch choices daily. The building is upgraded often and in fantastic shape. There are many resources available to the students here. They offer many clubs/activities to the older students. Teachers are caring and responsive. I wish they focused more on anxiety and bullying because it can be a problem. Efforts to mitigate seem geared towards younger students and don't transfer well to the older ones.... Read 1 review

Senior: I have been at Corning Christian Academy form Kindergarten to senior in high school. My class sizes have been small 10 -15 students though out the years. I think the small size has been a advantage to me. Teachers take time with me and other individuals showing they care and want me to be successful. Being a small Christian school I get opportunities to learn faith base life lessons that help me develop my own options and become a positive person. Senior: The people are probably the best part about it. Teachers are (mostly) friendly, administrators are nice people, custodians are accommodating and fellow students are alright. The facilities are quite nice, even though there seems to always be construction going on. My only major complaint is the counseling department, they seem like they don’t do anything except make schedules. Food is alright, and the sports coaches are awesome. The choral and band programs are also an amazing part of the experience. Definitely would recommend sending students there.... Read 31 reviews

Senior: Prattsburgh Central School is a small school in a small town. Since the grades K-12 are in the same building, I've gotten to know my classmates for twelve years and have built relationships that will last a lifetime. Although the town is small, the community has a big spirit that shines during sports competitions. Also, since there fewer people in a class, the teachers can have a one on one relationship with the students and create a learning environment and style that benefits each student. The teachers truly have your best interest in mind and encourage questions and seeking extra help outside of class. There are also plenty of ACE courses you can take through Corning Community College at PCS to earn college credit at an affordable price. Overall, the students, the teachers, and the community provide an educational experience that I'll be forever grateful for as I go to college and pursue a career. Thank you PCS!... Read 8 reviews

Alum: Canisteo-Greenwood is a great rural public school, they offer a wide range of extracurriculars and advanced courses which in my experience, were of great benefit. The best parts I would say are the sports teams that became like family to me, and being so connected with my classmates since it’s a smaller school. The worst parts I would say, are the misguided choices in budget spending, some teachers have issues with sharing too much of their politics and lives.... Read 13 reviews
