Niche User: I loved how the teachers are always so sweet and welcoming every single day! I don’t really remember a time where there was any bullying or huge fights that would happen. All of the students seemed pretty mature and respectful.

Alum: The education offered is top notch. The teachers are very knowledgeable. The only downsides are the lack of diversity and the small selection of extracurricular activities. Being a small school, the student to teacher ratio is great!

Alum: My high school is very small. It is good to have small classes, however there are not as much diversity in classes compared to a larger school. Also, basically there was only one instructor for each subject area. I felt I received excellent instruction in business and math. Science was sufficient, but the other core subjects were lacking. The atmosphere for the most part was good, as the administrators did a good job.

Senior: My experience with Cowden Herrick High School is one of indifference but also enjoyable. Both of my parents and most of my aunts and uncles have all gone here. So have most of my cousins. I feel like this is my home in a way because most of my family is here. The education on the other hand is sub-pare. We don't have much money so some things are broke and out dated but we are getting better. In time a feel that this school will improve tremendously. However; our clubs are great; particularly FFA. We are a rural community so the student see agriculture every single day. Most students have a farmer in the family or knows of one. I have been a FFA chapter officer for 3 years. i feel that FFA has helped my a lot in building leadership skills, personal growth, and in finding a career that best suits me. Being in FFA made my high school career great. My high schools FFA chapter is a great one. I'm so happy to be a part of it.

Alum: MAPS is a small, private school located within my church. The personal help and relationships that are formed in this school are life changing. While sports have been an issue from the start because of the small attendance numbers, they did not have any while I was in school. However, as the years and students begin to grow, my brothers are now given the opportunity to co-op with surrounding schools to be involved in sports. As MAPS continues to grow, the more personal and college-ready they make sure their students are. I am very fortunate to have been given the opportunity to have attended MAPS.
