Senior: I started attending Mount Saint Joseph Academy my senior year. I was so scared to come into a school my senior year because I thought it was gonna be hard to make friends. I was wrong. As soon I got to Vermont, I joined the schools soccer team. The girl were amazing. They welcomed me to their team with open arms even if I had no idea how to play soccer. When I had trouble getting certain things, instead of getting mad and not letting me play, the girls helped me get better. Right now I'm in my second semester at the school and I'm loving it. I'm on the basketball team with a different group of girls and they're just as welcoming as the soccer girls In class, it's like a family. Everyone talks to each other. And there aren't many kids in a class, which helps with understanding things and asking questions. The classes are discussion based to make sure that everyone participates and understands. Parent: KMS is the best kept secret around. This school excels at individualized instruction, flexible schedules, supportive community and high performance athletics. They had mastered blended-learning (distance/in person) long before the pandemic and they continue to perfect their continuity of learning program to ensure that they deliver the highest quality educational experience to each and every one of their learners regardless of where they are (in classroom or traveling for training and competition). The full-term curriculum is top notch. The teachers are dedicated to the success of each student-athlete and most classes have 2 to 5 students. Lessons are hands-on, experiential and differentiated. The sense of community in this small school of day and boarding students is more like that of a family. The mutual respect, camaraderie and investment in everyone's success makes this the optimal learning environment. I cannot say enough about how beneficial this experience is for my children.... Senior: My experience at Rutland has been interesting because my freshman year my class were the only ones in the building every day and all three other classes were online or half online. It was still a good year though. Sophomore year was a normal year in which everyone was in the building every day and that was an even better year. This past year, junior year, was also normal and the best year yet. Next year half of my schedule is an engineering technical course and I’m very excited for that.... Read 91 reviews

Senior: I was only at MillRiver for my senior year of high school but the time I was there was pretty great. I transferred from a very small school of about 150 kids so the change was pretty drastic but the teachers made me feel very welcomed. Compared to other schools the music department is just phenomenal, so many different choir groups to join and opportunities for all students and all forms of music are taken very seriously. They have many different AP programs I wish that I had access to before my senior year and the easily accessible option of early college at Castleton nearby for free. And there’s A LOT to do after school, most of which I didn’t do lol but I hear great things from others. Many classes to choose from and they make sure you get at least one break during the day and I will say the counselors and nurse are amazing! Senior: I absolutely love how close the community is, it is such a small school that we know absolutely everyone from grades pre-k to 12. Everyone loves everyone, and we are always there to support everyone in the entire school. Somethings I would like to see, not necessarily changed, but added, would be some clubs. We have no clubs, and I'd like to see there be at least one, so everyone has more options besides sports, or going home.... Read 15 reviews

Senior: This is a great school overall-the main problem is the facilities. The building is old and needs serious renovations. We don't have a stage for performances and I played in the band for four years, so I understand how much the school really needs a proper area for concerts and plays. The building is also poorly heated and rundown. A highlight of my education at this school was my guidance counselor. In fact, the entire department is first rate. High School Junior: I came to this school in the ninth grade. Everyone in my class had known each other since kindergarten, however they welcomed me right in and made me feel comfortable. The atmosphere at school is very relaxed, nonchalant, and comfortable. Everybody knows everybody and there is no "popular". Everybody gets along and is friends with everybody else. Most of the teachers are spectacular and form personal friendships with the students. They are always willing and eager to help students out.
