Kennett High School
- Kennett School District, MO
Senior: My experience with Kennett High School has definitely been one to remember! Although there were some bad times had, overall it was a pretty good experience. The staff members were some of the sweetest, most hardworking people you could ever meet. If I could change anything, I would want to change the attitudes of the other students here. I would want them to know that it isn't "lame" to enjoy your high school experience, and that the staff really is here to help you.

Parent: Community School has been the best possible choice for our family. We could not be happier. Every morning, Head of School, Bob Cooke, greets each child with a handshake as they enter school. I love this tradition, as it truly exemplifies the nurturing aspect of the school. In this simple gesture, each child is recognized daily as a respected and important individual within the entire community – my children are known by all the children, teachers, and administrators throughout the school. The academics are fantastic, and the learning extends so much further than the classroom. My favorite part of the curriculum is the emphasis on public speaking. It’s amazing to hear the nursery students (age 3!) confidently share their birthdays to the entire lunch room during their birthday months. For dual-working families, like mine, the options for extended day and after-school programs are abundant and appreciated. Community School gets my vote as the top elementary school in St. Louis.

Senior: At Caruthersville high school the teachers are very interactive with the students and really push us to succeed at any and everything we do. Whether it be at academics or sports. It is a very fun loving environment. The teachers actually want us to go somewhere in life and they are not just doing it for the money. They really take their time with us if we do not understand something.

Hayti High School
- Hayti R-II School District, MO
Alum: I grew up in Hayti and graduated from high school in 1996. I enjoyed school and was focused on academics. I had perfect attendance and never got into trouble. The teachers were great for a small school district. I remember the district attempted to merge with others, but it was always struck down. I think that would have really helped Hayti progress and offer stronger classes. It didn't seem fair surrounding towns were more advanced than us. The building was older, but was maintained well. I would have loved to have more African American teachers. We only had 1 throughout high school and hopefully this is not the case today. Also, they need to offer classes for college credit. Overall, it was a good school and we made many memories to last our lifetime.
