Victor Senior High School
#1 Best Public High Schools in Ontario County
- Victor Central School District, NY
- Rating 3.97 out of 5 249 reviews
Senior: Victor is a fairly large school (350 per class) but you definitely do not feel it until high school and even then it is still personalized. There are many, many parents that are teachers or administration at the school so it's a small town feel. They put lots of money into the school with a brand new aquatic center, and another indoor sports center, which we definitely need with the terrible weather we have. The campus is just beautiful - it's like a small college campus!

#2 Best Public High Schools in Ontario County
- Canandaigua City School District, NY
- Rating 4 out of 5 139 reviews
Alum: I spent my entire high school career at Canandaigua Academy. I graduated from there in 2015 and my other three siblings have attended/are attending the school as well. The school had many social opportunities, something for everyone. They had a variety of clubs and sports, they also have a very good music program with several events throughout the year including the musical. The staff there welcomed you with open arms and made you feel as if you belonged. They were always there if you needed help in class or on assignments. They also made sure you were comfortable both in school and out of school. They made school fun by having special events throughout the year. There were several spirts weeks where the students could dress up and were hats to show school pride or whatever the wacky theme was. This school was a place of learning but also were life long friendships were made. Being a Canandaigua Brave is truly something to be proud of.

Canandaigua Middle School
#2 Best Public Middle Schools in Ontario County
- Canandaigua City School District, NY
- Rating 4 out of 5 1 review
Middle School Student: Overall a good school! Music is just as funded as sports are, and there is lots of parent support with activities around the school. Food really isn't that great, and the diversity is lacking. About 9 in 10 students are white, and although it's not rare to see someone non-white, you won't find very many. I've had many good experiences at this school.

Marcus Whitman High School
#3 Best Public High Schools in Ontario County
- Marcus Whitman Central School District, NY
- Rating 3.11 out of 5 35 reviews
Senior: Marcus Whitman is a very cozy little school. The teachers and staff are very helpful and they truly value creating relationships with their students. Classes are small so teachers can spend 1 on 1 time with each individual student. The students that attend Marcus Whitman are generally well behaved and you won't see as many of the problems that you might in a larger city school district. This is a place where everyone knows everybody else and it is a very tight knit community.

Geneva High School
#4 Best Public High Schools in Ontario County
- Geneva City School District, NY
- Rating 3.45 out of 5 121 reviews
Senior: To be candid, there are many problems with Geneva High School. There is a strong semblance of segregation in advanced classes and there are teachers who don’t put forth much effort. But with the bad is a tremendous amount of good. There are great teachers in many of the math and science classes and the band is great. Some teachers excel in such a profound manner I believe that they are among the best in the state at what they do. In Geneva the good must be taken with the bad and if you don’t seize the opportunities out forth you stand the risk of falling behind.

Midlakes High School
#5 Best Public High Schools in Ontario County
- Phelps-Clifton Springs Central School District, NY
- Rating 3.63 out of 5 122 reviews
Alum: Academics are okay, but could be more intense. Teachers are awesome, but there was a lot of sketchy substitutes. Clubs and activities seemed to be dying. Sports were still thriving, even though Midlakes has a terrible record in almost every sport. More diversity will definitely do the school good. Also, the administration had a habit of changing systems that were working to make everyone's lives (students, teacher, and parents) unnecessarily difficult.

Bloomfield High School
#6 Best Public High Schools in Ontario County
- East Bloomfield Central School District, NY
- Rating 3.39 out of 5 46 reviews
Sophomore: Bloomfield High School has a full range of supportive teachers and staff that fully prepare and pride themselves on providing great learning and explorative experiences. Bloomfield tends to favor certain activities over others though most are still very enjoyable. School pride is evident among most student body and the administration works to keep the student body safe while being lenient. There is some lack of care or funds when it comes to some parts of the school though.

- Rating 3.97 out of 5 29 reviews
Senior: Naples High School is a small involved community. The students, staff, and parents are dedicated to better the future of Naples children. Personally my experience has been very helpful in that I graduated in the top of my class and I've been prepared for many life scenarios to come my way.

Red Jacket High School
#8 Best Public High Schools in Ontario County
- Manchester-Shortsville Central School District, NY
- Rating 3.07 out of 5 30 reviews
Middle School Student: Red Jacket is very small school. As such you know everyone and they know you. If you were to drop your books there would be three to five people trying to help you. The teachers very kind. They understand that the last thing a child wants to do is sit in school all day, so the make it fun. They make games that are simultaneously fun and educational. You relay can tell that they care about there students.

Honeoye Middle/High School
- Honeoye Central School District, NY
- Rating 3.48 out of 5 73 reviews
Junior: Can't speak to Elementary/Middle School teachers and the administration can be difficult, but the teachers in the High School are all amazing. Declining enrollment puts good classes (SUPA Calculus, Gemini Astronomy/Meteorology, ALL Business classes!) at risk of being cut. This school is such a loving community, with a thriving art community, very strong STEM programs, excellence in LOTE programs, etc.
