Parent: Overall the school is just above average. The school culture among the students seems to be great. The PTA is a bit clicque and oblivious to the economic diversity of the student body. Senior: Starpoint High School has provided me with a well-rounded education. I have had wonderful and supportive teachers and guidance counselors who have looked out for my best interest. I have enjoyed engaging in a variety of extra-curricular activities- TRACK, CROSS-COUNTRY, TECH CLUB, and STAGE CREW. I have been especially impressed by the variety of elective courses offered at this school. Senior: Lewiston-Porter Senior High School provides excellent academic courses to flourish in their school. The various classes offered whether it comes to the arts, technology, business, and so many more, give the students who attend the ability to explore different career opportunities while still in high school. The teachers are very good at what they do and often take the time to personally get to know their students; creating a helpful environment for which the students are welcome to be open with their teachers. There is a multitude of options when it comes to the clubs and activities within the school as well which provides inclusiveness that cannot be achieved without those options. Lastly, the majority of the alumni throughout the years have gone into STEM-related majors and fields of study in which to pursue careers. Senior: Lockport High School offers a lot of opportunities that some other schools might not offer. The school offers a bunch of different AP and High School college credited courses for students to take. The school also offers BOCES to students who are planning to go to trade school or do something different then go straight to university. The teachers that they have hired here are phenomenal I feel like I can go to any of them about my problems or issues. The teachers also try their hardest to keep students on track and help out when it is needed. I have also had an amazing experiences when it comes down to athletics in this school. In my freshman year I participated in 3 different sports every season during the fall I did swimming, during the winter I did Track and Filed and during the spring I did softball. Parent: Ohio is a great school. The teachers and faculty care about the children. In our experience, any issues are dealt with quickly and professionally by the teachers. My daughters are excelling academically and socio-emotionally. Not everything is about the state tests, which have severe issues as being a valid form of progress measurement and has cut scores that vary at the education commissioner’s whim, and I like that Ohio doesn’t kill and drill and put that pressure on kids. Rather, they approach learning in a more traditional manner, caring about the whole child, as it should be. You’ve got me on diversity- it is not a very diverse neighborhood, but I’m not sure how that’s the school’s fault. It’s dependent on who registers and who lives in the neighborhood. It would be nice if the neighborhood was more representative of our country, but Ohio isn’t being exclusive. It’s a great school and I have no regrets about moving to the neighborhood to send my girls there.... Read 8 reviews

Senior: The staff and faculty work their hardest to make it a safe place to educate yourself and others. The building it's self is small enough to feel comfortable and confident. In this building almost everyone know everyone, it creates more of a family dynamic. The administrators work their hardest to keep the environment safe and drama free.
