Great Neck South High School
Senior: Very, very academically toxic environment, it's not really competitive until you realize it is by having interactions with — normal people. Certain people here can be complete jerks, but others are nice. This school has a variety of types of people in it despite low racial diversity. The only very good sports teams are in badminton, fencing and track & field. Some other programs like tennis and swim are good sometimes, but they are generally just average. All the other sports are embarrassingly bad. (Core subject) teachers here are either average or very, very good. The largest redeeming factor for this school is that some of the teachers are world-class, and even perspective-changing, if their teaching method resonates with you. If you challenge yourself and take difficult classes, school will be hard. Some of the competition clubs are very good, some overfunded, others not funded at all. If you want to give your life for a grade and don't have bad social experiences, it's a 10/10.... Read 262 reviews
