Senior: Choosing this high school was one of the best decisions of my life! From amazing teachers to peers that support and get along with each other, High Technology High School provided me with the best possible high school experience I could have asked for. The academics are rigorous but manageable, and the clubs provide great opportunities to meet and become friends with others who share your interests. The hour long lunch in the middle of every day is a perfect time to get some extra studying done as well as generally hanging out with friends. I have met so many great people by going to this school, and I believe that I changed for the better having gone here over my home high school. Freshman: I like the education and the people in the school, but the environment can be very stressful especially during important tests because everyone crams a lot of information. This also leads to a lot of people being depressed and overly stressed out about college. That is because it is an IB school and all of the classes are more rigorous and demanding. The school has some great teachers too on the bright side, especially in the science section. Parent: My son started at Ranney this fall and we couldn’t be happier with our experience. We feel so fortunate that our son has teachers who challenge him, recognize his potential, and help him to be the best version of himself every day. While the academics are incredibly strong, administrators/staff focus on the social-emotional learning as well. Kindness, empathy, and respect are woven into the fabric of the Ranney culture and are actively modeled by administrators and staff. Perhaps the most important gift that Ranney has given our son is happiness. He wakes up every morning excited to go to school. He comes home and excitedly talks about his day, his learnings, and his peers. It is the greatest feeling to know that your child not only feels connected to his school community, but is also valued for who he is within that community. Junior: I really like this school because of the opportunity it gives me to study health care from every angle. I have learned about the history of medicine, standard protocols used in health care, the anatomy and physiology of the body, the impact of nutrition on the body, etc. I also enjoy attending my school because of the people at the school! My teachers make learning fascinating and support their students in any way they can, academically or otherwise. In addition, I enjoy spending time with my peers, as they encourage me to do my best academic work, serve as people who I can relate to, and make me feel like I belong at the school. One action I would take to change my school would be to enlarge its campus. The size of the campus makes the hallways feel very crowded and limits the space for students to play games and sports outside. Junior: Personally, I’ve had a great experience at Communications High School so far. The teachers and students are welcoming and always make me feel included. There are so many activities in school and out of school connected to communications. It is honestly a great environment that introduces you to many new things. There aren’t many bad things about CHS. But, a bad part about being a CHS is that the days are longer than a regular high school. At CHS there is an hour long lunch instead of half an hour. In this hour, one has time to go to clubs or get extra help from a teacher instead of staying after school. Alum: I spent four years of my high school life at Rumson Fair Haven Regional, I really remember the good professors that helped me out academic but also personally. Professor Pagano for all 4 years of science course's and Beaver for Graphics 1 & 2 thank you for helping me in more ways than you know. The sport teams at Rumson Fair Haven are exceptional and was on the cheer and dance team. I would like to see more college prep for juniors and seniors preparing them for college and the adult world. Senior: Holmdel High School has excellent academics. I was able to dive deeply into my passions and take all the classes I desired. It also has many clubs and extracurriculars for all areas of study. I believe HHS has prepared me a lot for college and beyond. One disadvantage to the school is that it is hard to find "your tribe" and people who you connect with. In addition, sometimes I feel that we as students are not allowed to act as mature adults and everything is restricted and supervised. Alum: An outstanding school - academically and mentally. No school is perfect (I've been to a few and so have my siblings), but CBA is a resounding 9.7/10. If you put in the work, you will get so much out of it. I am now deep into my sophomore year at a top 15 school (according to Niche) and thriving. CBA taught me how to organize and prioritize my time, how to focus and to ask the right questions. I am as happy as can be and I attribute so much to the infusion of CBA. Alum: The academics are on par with everything I could have wished for. This school prepared me for my upcoming high-school career and everything after. The teachers genuinely want you to succeed. There is many clubs/sports for the student body, and students often take part in pep rallies and cheering for their peers. Everyone at this school is excited and participates in the school spirit days. Our sports are pretty great and have coaches that guide you to be a better player and teammate. Also, there is fairly big library with ample amounts of books for the students and the librarians actively teach the student body about plagiarism. At this school, parents are involved in the making of class parties, sports, academic achievements and they donate money to insure their kid's academia at Forrestdale allows them to get the best. Senior: My experience at Red Bank Regional was decent. Most of the students, staff, and coaches were extremely nice and welcoming to the school. A few notable times Red Bank Regional went above and beyond were things like football games, battle of the classes, and spirit days. The school did a great job making everyone feel like they belonged in the community. On the other hand, RBR did struggle with class scheduling conflicts, class funding, and our specific major classes. RBR often advertised classes as highly competitive learning tracks that turned out to be the opposite. Other problems included a lack of privacy in bathrooms, frequent auto accidents in parking lots due to congestion, and recurring acts of violence such as fights. Senior: Colts Neck High school is a ver warm and welcoming environment. As soon as you step in the building, the staff members and students are extremely kind. The education is top notch. There are various AP courses that can prepare you for your interests in the future. Those courses wouldn’t be possible without the amazing teachers. The education is only the base, as the incredible clubs, sports, and activities help students break out of their shell and get involved in the school community. There are also events that bring the school community together such as Battle of the Classes, Pep Rallies, and volleyball tournaments throughout the school year. There are also two programs that you can apply to get into, Law and Public Service (LPS) and Navy Junior ROTC, both which can help you find your future career while also furthering your education. Senior: I decided to tour Saint John Vianney because a couple of my family members had attended. The moment I walked into SJV I felt at home. My tour guides were lovely and I fell in love with the school. Considering the global pandemic I thought my first year would be hectic however SJV really gave me a wonderful academic experience despite the circumstances. Since then I have enjoyed high school thoroughly. SJV has taught me so many lessons, introduced me to many influential teachers, and gave me so many new friends. The community is so welcoming and even though high school can be hard, I have never struggled to find someone who is more than happy to help me. The curriculum is challenging and rigorous, yet I have grown to appreciate it as I feel the education is much better than my public school education would have been.
