Thorndale High School
#1 Best Public High Schools in Milam County
- Thorndale Independent School District, TX
- Rating 3.91 out of 5 54 reviews
Senior: I think that Thorndale High school is a wonderful place to be. There is always a sense of community and family and you are never left feeling alone. I think some campus safety adjustments, like the way visitors enter to building would be the only thing I think needs to be fixed, but that is something they are working on! My experience at THS was one I will never forget!

Cameron Yoe High School
#2 Best Public High Schools in Milam County
- Cameron Independent School District, TX
- Rating 3.72 out of 5 75 reviews
Senior: At Cameron Yoe High School, there were a variety of both good and bad aspects of student life. From the good side, Dual Credit and AP classes were offered, which accelerated the learning of some students. There was a high level of diversity among students. Safety was a large factor in most district decisions. The music and arts classes blessed the lives of numerous students. Parents are happy to get involved in every part of the school. However, there was also a myriad of negative things at this school. Smoking, vaping, and drug use was surprisingly large for the size of the school. Creativity and individuality were gradually becoming less important to the education department. Stress and anxiety was high in most students. Though some teachers were spectacular, other teachers did not always prepare students correctly for exams. All in all, there is always something to improve, but some things are excellent just the way they are.

Rockdale High School
- Rockdale Independent School District, TX
- Rating 2.9 out of 5 50 reviews
Senior: I started attending Rockdale High School in my Junior year of high school, and I had a very good experience. Unlike my previous high school, the teachers were very engaging and seemed to really care about the students and their education. They provide many clubs and activities, which open many opportunities to learn, grow, and gain new experiences. I personally felt very supported by almost all the staff there and always received any help needed. The only complaint I have is that although they do provide dual credit courses, the counselors didn't seem to put aside a lot of time for seniors for college planning even when requested. I would of appreciated much more help with my college search and decision process, so that I wouldn't feel like I'm drowning now. Overall, I had a wonderful experience with dedicated teachers and even though it was a small school there was still many opportunities there.
