Hillsboro Middle/High School
1 Best Public High Schools in Marion County
- Durham-Hillsboro-Lehigh Unified School District, KS
Senior: I like how my school tries to do things to get us involved. For how small our school is, they do a lot outside of school to make sure we have fun for the four years we're here. 5th quarters, eclipse viewing, dances, and games around holidays are all great ways our school helps us. Pretty much all of the teachers are nice and easy to talk to. We go through all of the college prep stuff not only as seniors, but they are starting in middle school now. We are very fortunate that our school has implemented the STEM classes not only in the high school but the middle and elementary schools too. Pathways is another way they are helping us for our future. Not a lot of schools have this program, and while we don't have AP classes, our ability to go through pathways definitely helps us decide either what career we want or which ones we don't want. Our school definitely does all it can to improve our lives not only in high school, but after as well.

Parent: Our son is currently in the 2nd grade. He has been at the school for two years, and it has been a wonderful experience. The enthusiasm of the teachers, who are truly experts in the subjects they teach, is infectious. They consistently set high standards for all students at every stage of their academic career. This is a school that prioritizes academics and the students themselves; it is targeted to students with intellectual curiosity and a strong work ethic. We are very happy here!

Marion High School
2 Best Public High Schools in Marion County
- Marion-Florence Unified School District, KS
Senior: Marion High School has been good to me. I haven't had any troubles with anyone in the school, such as bullying or related issues. I have become friends with many, younger and older. I have done cross country for three years and track for four, both were good to me. The teachers are very helpful and are willing to help especially if you have a low grade. You can always go to one of the teachers for advice. They are all friendly. There are many clubs you can attend and they are all fun. There isn't much diversity since it is a very small town school. The safety is above standards. The school food is decent enough to eat it but we have this awesome system where upperclassmen can go home for lunch with good grades and on Friday's it is extended. Our seminar is before lunch so for Fridays we use up that time for an extended lunch period. We all kind of get along, yes there is that high school drama but nothing extremely serious.

Goessel High School
3 Best Public High Schools in Marion County
- Goessel Unified School District, KS
Alum: I enjoyed Goessel a lot. It is a small school and yet it does not feel like it. The teachers do a tremendous job of getting the best out of their students as well as preparing them for the college experience. If I were to change one thing, it would be to allow more college classes to be taken. This way students could really focus on their career path as soon as they enter college. Overall, I love Goessel and I am very proud to call it my hometown.
