#2 Best Public High Schools in Lipscomb County
- Higgins Independent School District, TX

Senior: Higgins is a very small school, allowing for very personal relationships with your teachers. I have loved being able to learn in a small, close environment. Higgins has offered me many opportunities, such as being the top of my class, being in leadership positions in many organizations, and being able to be super involved in everything. Because of the personal relationships with my coaches, I have been able to go to Playoff in basketball 3 times and I've gone to State in tennis 2 times. I also went to state in UIL Ready Writing last year.
If I could change something about Higgins, I would change our attendance. We've dropped so low that our school will be closing at the end of this year. It's hard to see the school where I grew up shut down because there aren't enough kids to keep it open.

Alum: I loved my experience at Booker Junior/High School, the diversity in the school was always a good thing and how small it is might seem like a disadvantage to others, however, to us it was an advantage because teachers got the chance to interact with us and build relationships.
