Parent: The curriculum is strong, with students working above grade level in many subjects. Teachers set high expectations and then help each child achieve those goals in a warm and nurturing environment. Each day students’ folders are filled with the work that they have completed so that parents can be informed of their child’s progress. Any obstacles are handled at early stages and the child is treated with the utmost respect every step of the way. The emphasis on STEAM is helping to prepare students for a successful future. Every member of the staff knows each kid--not only their names, but their individual personalities. Additional benefits of ACE include smaller class sizes, character development, a uniform that minimizes drama in the mornings, responsive staff, and an exceptional facility. Parent: Our journey began in Sprouts, then Early Childhood. The EC teachers created a space where my child felt welcome and loved. The daily, weekly, and seasonal rhythms changed our life. There’s meaning and intention in everything. Free play introduced social skills and problem solving. The EC program feels like your coziest blanket. Now in the grades, my child is an avid reader, making lifelong friends, and excited for school every day. The field trips are incredible experiences full of memories and skills to last a lifetime. Art and beauty are woven into every subject. Every child learns to ride a bike, participate in woodwork/handwork, play instruments, learn 2 languages, and recess is twice a day. Interacting face to face and growing relationships without screens is important to me. The community is diverse in many ways, which I love. Parent: As the parent of two children in the lower school, I am extremely pleased with SSSAS. The Early Saints teachers make each day engaging for my 3-year-old. The monthly units the ES learn have prompted my son to apply what he’s learned to the world around him (the food unit they completed prompts a nightly discussion about which foods on his plate are muscle foods, brain foods, etc.). His teachers started a recent parent conference with 3 very specific adjectives to describe my son and given the examples they gave me, it is clear that really understand him as a whole child. My experiences with JK and K were also nothing short of fantastic; even during the pandemic the teachers were able to connect with my son. The K and 1st grade teachers have also provided my son a solid educational foundation; they have identified his strengths and given additional challenging work so that he hasn’t been bored.
