Alum: If there’s anything I could recommend middle school students who are interested in ECA, it’s go for it! I was an early graduate (4 years rather than 5) and the experience was amazing! ECA has truly allowed me to flourish under rigorous circumstances and helped me feel prepared for my college career. I was able to get 2 Associates degrees (A.A & A.S) and made it into my dream school! Of course, this was not just handed to me, but if students are willing to put in the effort, they can most definitely be very successful. Parent: We switched our daughter from River Dell Elementary School that does have some amazing teachers but it's so overcrowded. This School now JCA gives homework like it should. Gives lots of tests and the kids really learn. Lots of diversity. They use A-F grading system so you really see when your child is improving. You see every test grade, homework assignment score etc.. if you want your child to progress and do well this is the School! If you are too busy and don't have time for homework or studying for tests send them to public schools nearby. Oh another huge plus it's super clean. As far as covid they handled it so well. Senior: I love going to Southside Christian School because I get to be in a community that not only cares about me academically, but that cares about my spiritual well-being. The teachers and staff at Southside Christian School see the students more like their own children rather than students that they are just supposed to teach information to. From an academic standpoint, I know that I will be more than prepared for college because of my time at Southside Christian School. The classes are rigorous and I have had the opportunity to take honors and AP classes and be involved with dual enrollment. Alum: The location of Riverwood elementary school is convenient if you live in the neighborhood. However, as the neighborhood grows it is getting more and more difficult to get out of the neighborhood due to school traffic in the morning and afternoon. The school itself has been around for over 16 years and is still in fair condition. The teachers are very kind and do care about students. Senior: I really enjoyed my time at CTLA and I love the environment. The closeness between the students and the staff creates a safe and uplifting learning environment. Unfortunately, I do have a few critiques. I feel like my educational plan could have taken four years instead of five. I also wish they would have been more clear about which college classes are important to take. The school schedules can be very disorganized and in the end, I feel as a student I wasted five years of my life. There is a lot of favoritism going on in the school that can cause some unfairness. Alum: I went to this school from 2018 - 2021, I loved my experience here and I've never gained so many close friends so quickly! The teachers I had were extremely caring and they would always check-in on us if we needed help and everyone would be on the same track. In most of the classes, we had the option to be ahead of what the teacher was currently teaching and some of us were able to finish the curriculum early and move on to the next grade's curriculum. There was also an AVID class that we had from 7th-8th, I'm not sure if it's still there anymore. Though, I wish there were better club options and some sports. I understand that they don't since the clubs are run by someone who works in the school or a PTA and the sports aren't there since the school is still fairly new. There was a cheer team and that was it. Overall, I love this school and I miss it a TON. I will definitely miss the teachers and students I met here, they've prepared me for life and the real world.... Read 1 review

Junior: Overall, I think our school is excellent and probably one of the best in the county. Students are always very passionate about representing the school, especially when it comes to sports. There are a wide range of classes you can take- everybody is bound to find something they like to do. Although us students have lots of resources when it comes to college readiness and emotional support, I feel as though they could do a better job of advertising it so that students are aware they can utilize those resources. Senior: My experience at Neuse was different. When I was younger I expected high school to be just as seen in movies, in reality that is not how it actually is. I can say Neuse has great teachers who actually want to help their students succeed. As for clubs and sports, I really wish we had a football team like other High schools do and more clubs to join, but regardless I am pleased with Neuse Charter. The staff works hard and dilligently to try and provide the best and I have never not felt safe while in school, which is something not every student can say. I first became part of Neuse when I was a fourth grader, and during all those years I have seen how many good changes have been made to the campus. Currently I am in my last year of high school, and I san safely say I feel better prepared for college. Watching all of my classmates and I get closer and closer to graduation makes me feel like i've come full circle. We are not longer kids who are clueless about our future.... we are adults!... Works Here: Daughters have attended Powhatan. I have worked at the school for over 10 years. Powhatan is a community school and the state holders are very involved in the school. PTA is a strong community. It would be nice if Teacher assistants did not have to drive buses. Taking them away from the classroom negatively impact the entire school. Other: I went to Corinth holder for 2 year and the experience was great they always would have an event occurring every week and have daily announcements about news, sports, student achievements, and school sport events they were consistent with keeping students updated on everything.The teacher were the best they would always would walk around class and ask help if they need help and ask them to explain to them the subject then give them example and they would have to solve the example.Most teacher were also like a parent caring for other when they would be having a bad day and always making me and other laugh they seem to enjoy their job.I’ve had one teacher for 2 years in the row teaching me more Spanish although I’m a fluent speaker in Spanish she taught me more like superlatives and demonstratives.... High School Senior: The atmosphere of the school was just amazing! Kids of all ages, whether 6 or 13, were just always so happy and peppy,and school was enjoyable. Our principals always had the best announcements in the morning to give you a nice little pep in your step. Also throughout the year, our school always had different but enticing assemblies of all kinds ,some historical and informative, and others were just for student enjoyment.
