Works Here: I have worked in 4 districts in the last 23 years. This district is hands down the best I have seen. I had really given up finding a district that cares about kids first, but they do here. School Board Members, Parents, Teachers, Administration and Students all work together to make this school really stand out. There is a positive, can do attitude from everyone. Parent: This is a great public charter school in the Greenville, Texas area! If a student would do better at a school with lower student/teacher ratio, more emphasis on academics, more personal teacher interactions, accommodations for learning styles, etc., this school would be a good fit for you! They also offer sports, music, art, robotics, computer programming, and free dual-credit college classes in high school. Senior: My goals, passions, and career of mine wouldn’t have been noticed had it not been for the environment that I was exposed to early on in my childhood through the local community. At which my parents enrolled me to the local Bland schools where they promoted individualized learning, provided students with one-on-one contact with the teachers, and improved students’ academic performance. In addition, the several challenges I have faced over the years, from difficulties in distinction to taking on too much to moribund as a consequence of the pandemic are what also affected my decision on what I want to do for the rest of my life. Alum: Caddo Mills High School has been rated the best district in and around the Hunt County area and it does indeed live up to this reputation. The staff are kind and caring and make the learning environment enjoyable for students. The education was better than most schools within the area and students were given various opportunities to challenge themselves with college level readiness. Although the classes and spirits were good, the funding lacked within the arts programs and club activities and mainly went to sports funding so other organizations suffered and some were disbanded. I think it would be great to see more student involvement and for students to be encouraged into more extracurricular activities. There is a lot of pride in the school's past achievements in sports, but far too often the achievements of popular sports seem to take more precedence than academic achievement. The administration does not do a very good job with problem solving that benefits the welfare of the students. Senior: I think Royse City High School does a great job at setting its students up for success. Almost all of my teachers have been really helpful when it comes to getting their points across in a way that I can understand. All of our sports programs do really well. The ones that I pay attention to, soccer, football, and basketball, have all made the playoffs in the past couple of years. As freshmen, or whenever you move to high school, you get to pick an endorsement in a field industry that you are interested in when you finish high school. I think this is very beneficial as it informs students about various fields of work. We have also recently gotten a lady that helps out with scholarships which helped me tremendously. I had absolutely no idea how or where to get a scholarship, and she helped me a lot. Her job is simply to help find student's scholarships. It has been on overall really good experience.... Senior: I used to struggle with having to meet new people and socializing. I used to be very scared of going to my counselor for help knowing that I really needed to walk into her office. Throughout the years, I've been able to open up to new people and my counselor. The students here are very fun and bold! The teachers are very humble and caring for their student's academic progress. The pep rallies here are always full of school spirit and determination too. The staff are very friendly and helpful with any student who's struggling to find their class, or is need of any other help. I also enjoy how kids here get along lost of the times in the district. One thing I'd wish the school would change is the dress code. I feel that the dress code was part of the impact of the change in behavior in other students.
